Actually, I don't really have that much music on my ipad. Mostly videos/movies/magazines and of course apps. Some apps can be quite large, I picked up Bastion and that takes up over 0.5gb. Things quickly add up. 64GB is a lot more space than 8gb/16gb, which is too limiting for me on a phone. On a tablet, I'd rather have more than that, which is why I went for 64GB. The SD card slot on the Surface makes getting the 32gb version, not so bad as you can add to it if you want. Being limited to 32gb on the N10 is not so great.

I see your point, but it really depends on what you using the tablet/ phone for (also, I don't know why there is a difference in price, for adding storage, probably done to make profit). It depends on if you want movies/ games/ music etc. on the device or if you don't mind using the cloud. If I get another apple product (I have 64gb ipod touch 4), it would have to be 64gb because of all the stuff i bought of itunes lol, the biggest game i got was Rage HD, which was 2GB, with Gangstar Rio, Max Payne and Real Racing 2 all being over a gigabyte. I know very well that it adds. But, I don't have any of this on my android phone and probably won't buy the games again. SD card slots should be on all portable devices though, since extra storage is useful.

On a phone, I could probably stay within 16gb since phones these days have bad battery lifes anyway and games are big consumers of battery. If nexus 4 cost the same as iPhone 5, it wouldn't be exceptable but since its way cheaper, i would accept the limited storage to get a great phone for cheap. There are other phones like galaxy s3 and HTC one x+ with similar specs but more storage but cost way more, which for me defeats the point. In that case, why pay £200 more, just an 16gb, its rediculous, but up to the manufacturers

Well, my mistake. Looks like is fully custom. I'll update this if/when there are true benchmarks comparing these units as I'm sure there will be.

Well, smbu2000 already posted the GPU benchmarks, but there are some CPU benchmarks of the Nexus 10 versus the iPhone 5 here:

The CPU in the iPad 4 is apparently clocked at 1.4 GHz, so we can expect it will be ~8% faster than the iPhone 5 on those charts, but right now it looks like a wash. The Swift substantially outperforms the A15 in Sunspider and Browsermark, then turns around to take a clobbering in Google and Mozilla's benchmarks.

I'm hoping Anand can dig a little deeper and give us a look at the power profile of that A15.

Read both posts related to anandtech and updated OP. With that info, at least iPad4 is justifying its $100 more from a hardware point of view. Still waiting on more benchmark tests that will compare the three more directly. The fact that the comparisons still focus on browser based benchmarks gives me doubts about the full scope of their differences as there are other factors. But, I have it listed as its reported.

my friend has a sony viao, and the mouse keeps disapearing wether touchpad or mouse. any advice?

Yeah, every Anandtech article bemoans the lack of good cross-platform CPU benchmark tools. Linpack is available on both iOS and Android, but apparently shows some irregularities that leave Anand unsatisfied. Browser benchmarks vary and are subject to changes in software, but they do give an example of a real world task that CPUs have to perform.

Besides, it doesn't really matter if one device has a faster CPU if the other device outperforms it with superior software. What matters is how well and how quickly the task gets done, and hardware is just one link in that chain.

I'd buy a Nexus device, but for more reasons that just hardware or just what's laid out in this OP.

In my opinion googledocs does indeed suck. At least as ar as i have used it. But OpenOffice is great, when ever i am on a computer without Microsoft office I just download open office real quick and use that. Although I do prefer Microsoft Office, OpenOffice is a gfreat alternative.
