Forums - Microsoft - Halo 4 Refuses to Leave Top Spot at Amazon.

Halo 4 will do better then most haters expect. There is a certain truth about the franchise malaise perspective. The other big franchises have probably seen too many iterations in too short a span of time. It is easy to see how people may be getting tired or just fed up with the Assassins Creeds, and Call of Duty's. While you could argue that Halo is in much the same boat. The difference is that the series typically sees radical expansions. Microsoft is betting on the fact that they are upping both the quality and quantity, and it is very obvious even to casual observers.

That all said what I find perplexing is the willingness of some to continue pre-ordering games through Amazon. The bonuses aren't particularly good. Hell they are fairly bad when compared to others. Plus Amazon has gone with a fairly brutal shipping strategy. Gone are the days of one dollar release day shipping. If you want Halo 4 through them at your house on release day with tax it costs around seventy five dollars. That amounts to about a twenty five percent privilege tax. You quite literally come out ahead driving to a brick and mortar.

I am just saying you can't save any money through using Amazon. Even if you are willing to wait a couple weeks to play the game, and if you are willing to wait that long anyway. Then why would you pre-order the game in the first place. It really doesn't make any fucking sense beyond being terribly lazy, or suffering from a severe case of Anthropophobia. I mean sure I find the Gamestop employees tedious and tiresome, but you only have to last a few minutes, and you don't even have to look them in the eye.

I used to use Amazon all of the time, but I have just given up on them. They can't give you the best deal, and they can't even seem to give you the convenience either. I just don't get it at all.

Halo 4 will do extremely well. I guess some people are just hurt over a video game.

Am I the only one who doesnt think this will sell as much as Halo 3? Personally I think it will take some great luck and word of mouth for it to even overtake halo reach much less reach 11M+ sales. But thats just my opinion based on who knows what

Long Live SHIO!

We already know Halo 4 is doing well in pre-orders, no need to point it out. We have pre-order chartz here on VgChartz. Was this just your way for posting your Amazon affiliate/referral link? You hurting for some money?

Well it has been 5 years since the last numbered mainline (Masterchief) Halo release and it represents the start of a new trilogy. The last four Halo titles have been spin-offs, or re-releases. You can make good arguments for and against and the sales are dependant as much on the market reception for the other shooter titles like Black Ops 2 as it does on the quality of the title itself. If people consider Halo 4 to be THE FPS to play this holiday season then it will definitely outsell Halo 3 if you consider MW3 as the high water mark of potential sales on the console as that title has sold 14.5M versus 11M for Halo 3.

Tease.

Bless your soul.. asshole

User has been banned for this post ~Barozi

Really ?? he got banned but the original poster didnt??.

He MUST have had a history of frequent moderation. Otherwise, that ban makes no sense, as ECM was being much more rude.

Anyways, on topic, I really look forward to this Halo game, millions of people will love it, but the CoD fans will not be overcome. It doesn't matter though, It's still a better game! ;)

As an Amazon Halo 4 Preorderer, I will try to shed some light on the matter.

1. I don't have ANY game store in my area. I would have to drive over a mountain to get to the closes town with a Gamestop. This would cost me as much in gas as shipping.

2. I don't have to pay for shipping because I have Amazon Prime. Yes Prime is a subscription, but I buy a lot from Amazon and end up ahead. Gamestop isn't the only store not in my area so I have to go online for many things I can't get in a brick and mortor store.

3. I don't care about the bonuses, but I do like the day & date free upgrade I got on Halo 4 and the Halo 4 bundle. Yes I bought both so I'd get the Halo 4 console and the special edition of the game. I'm going to sell the extra hard drive, extra standard Halo 4, and my old Xbox 360. I've done the math and the upgrade will pay for itself since I also used credit points from my Amazon Credit card that I always pay off every month so I'm never in debt and get tripple the points on anything I buy on Amazon.

4. I live in Oregon so I don't pay any sales tax on anything ever, online or offline.

5. Even if I had the stores in my area, I'd probably still use Amazon for a lot of stuff. I have nothing against Gamestop, but with Amazon Prime's free 2 day shipping and often free day and date upgrade it's just easy.

6. People preorder because they want to buy and forget. You see a cool trailer, decide to buy the game, buy it, forget about it, it comes in the mail and you play it.

@zero129

Actually it looks to be a prejudice on the moderators part, or at least the result of a particularly bad policy. The mod states on the ban that the banned poster has gone four months without incident. That would suggest to me as what I hope comes across as a even handed fellow. That a warning was more then in order. Obviously the poster has tried to behave themselves, and just had a slip up.

I mean if the moderators stick to a process of pure escalation then the end result will be empty forums as people can only be forced out. Rather then work their way back in. That said I agree with your observation it is hard to see this as being fair. The first poster looks to meet all of the criteria of what would be considered trolling, and if that is the case then the second posters response was obviously provoked. I don't like the idea of new posters getting a free pass. While established posters get the belt.

Anyway take it for what it is worth. I am not a big fan of the banning policies on this site period. I think they do a lot more harm then good. Which is probably part of the reason that these forums probably see a tenth of the total traffic they saw just a couple years ago. The irony is I will probably get banned for saying so.

Halo 4 will obviously be huge.

10-12M sales lifetime seem likely.

Seriously how do this not get a ban, given some of the petty bullshit I have been banned for recently.  Then someone calls him out and is banned.

what is going on!?

He had zero moderations on record.

First moderation is pretty much always a warning unless it's a nuclear option type thing...

or in otherwords.

As for the guy replying to him... I believe he called the guy an asshole.  Which is clearly against forum rules and he's had moderations before.
