Halo 4 will do better then most haters expect. There is a certain truth about the franchise malaise perspective. The other big franchises have probably seen too many iterations in too short a span of time. It is easy to see how people may be getting tired or just fed up with the Assassins Creeds, and Call of Duty's. While you could argue that Halo is in much the same boat. The difference is that the series typically sees radical expansions. Microsoft is betting on the fact that they are upping both the quality and quantity, and it is very obvious even to casual observers.

That all said what I find perplexing is the willingness of some to continue pre-ordering games through Amazon. The bonuses aren't particularly good. Hell they are fairly bad when compared to others. Plus Amazon has gone with a fairly brutal shipping strategy. Gone are the days of one dollar release day shipping. If you want Halo 4 through them at your house on release day with tax it costs around seventy five dollars. That amounts to about a twenty five percent privilege tax. You quite literally come out ahead driving to a brick and mortar.

I am just saying you can't save any money through using Amazon. Even if you are willing to wait a couple weeks to play the game, and if you are willing to wait that long anyway. Then why would you pre-order the game in the first place. It really doesn't make any fucking sense beyond being terribly lazy, or suffering from a severe case of Anthropophobia. I mean sure I find the Gamestop employees tedious and tiresome, but you only have to last a few minutes, and you don't even have to look them in the eye.

I used to use Amazon all of the time, but I have just given up on them. They can't give you the best deal, and they can't even seem to give you the convenience either. I just don't get it at all.

As an Amazon Halo 4 Preorderer, I will try to shed some light on the matter.

1. I don't have ANY game store in my area. I would have to drive over a mountain to get to the closes town with a Gamestop. This would cost me as much in gas as shipping.

2. I don't have to pay for shipping because I have Amazon Prime. Yes Prime is a subscription, but I buy a lot from Amazon and end up ahead. Gamestop isn't the only store not in my area so I have to go online for many things I can't get in a brick and mortor store.

3. I don't care about the bonuses, but I do like the day & date free upgrade I got on Halo 4 and the Halo 4 bundle. Yes I bought both so I'd get the Halo 4 console and the special edition of the game. I'm going to sell the extra hard drive, extra standard Halo 4, and my old Xbox 360. I've done the math and the upgrade will pay for itself since I also used credit points from my Amazon Credit card that I always pay off every month so I'm never in debt and get tripple the points on anything I buy on Amazon.

4. I live in Oregon so I don't pay any sales tax on anything ever, online or offline.

5. Even if I had the stores in my area, I'd probably still use Amazon for a lot of stuff. I have nothing against Gamestop, but with Amazon Prime's free 2 day shipping and often free day and date upgrade it's just easy.

6. People preorder because they want to buy and forget. You see a cool trailer, decide to buy the game, buy it, forget about it, it comes in the mail and you play it.
