lol 30 million for the development of odst? i mean, i'm a big halo fan but i don't really see how that could happen.
and halo 4 was obviously super expensive, as example the headhunting to build 343i was surely not cheap.

Microsoft raising all new studios from the ground must be freaking expensive...
i dont even want to know how much they are spending with 343i, must be some crazy motherfuckin numbers.
Just because the game is going to sell a lot, doesn't make the development budget irrelevant. They could, theoretically, gain higher profits by lower dev cost if their revenue was going to be similar.
Let's hope the extra budget they put into this game pays off with increased revenue! (Not that I give a shit, I just can't wait to play this epic experience as a gamer!)

yup sounds good
Is this the same phil spencer that does the UK show location, location, location?
Halo is the crown jewel of the XBox brand, and it's being transferred to a new dev studio for the first time.
This is the most important Halo game since the very first one. If the brand is damaged here, they could lose a lot of the fanbase.
So it's money well spent. It's not MS just investing in one game, they are investing in their lead brand.

We had trouble finding data on Halo: Reach, but Halo 3 reportedly cost $60 Million to develop and advertise, which makes it one of the most expensive games ever produced. Apparently, Halo 4's budget is quite a bit larger than that.
This is the first numbered Halo title that has been produced by someone other than Bungie, but based on everything we've seen and played so far, hardcore Halo fans have nothing to worry about. This should be the sequel we've been waiting for. Halo 4 comes out on November 6; better go get in line now.

That is just so well said, bravo.
I wonder if they charged less - they could sell so much more it would be worth it.
I'm so excited with this new Halo 4! Supporters of the “Halo” games have all probably wished at some point they could drive a real-life “Warthog,” an automobile in the games. It's essentially a futuristic jeep, but a real-life one is being showcased at this year's SEMA show. It's part of the publicity for the forthcoming “Halo 4” game. Get a used car buy that is ideal for you.
