I do think SSBB will do better than SMG as I see it appealing too a broader audience, but I think Mario Kart will the Wii's champion title.

SSBB will not have an effect on hardware. It's already sold out. How can it sell more.

It will however bring older Nintendo fans and they might purchase another good game.

yes i think it will help those games and it will bring more core gamers to wii,and also then those core players will start to buy even more games

did you read any of my topic. I explained that the affect that SSBB will have on hardware will not be so much of a how many, but who is buying it. The main affect(effect... can't remember which one i am supposed to use) will be the Crowd that SSBB brings will buy more "traditional" games, as opposed to the WiiSports crowd.

Are you sure that old hardcore gamers have not already bought a wii?

It wont be console sales now it'll be console sales years from now is the better way to put it, it'll get sales now and the gamers that have held out will now get in the shopping frenzy for the Wii, which could and probably will mean more shortages for a while, SSBB will give the system its legs to carry on, then when the people years from now get SSBB will also grab SMG, Zelda TP, Mario Kart and so on, I don't know how much will be a trickle down effect to the other games cause some people years from now may want Zelda and get SSBB as their side game, the big reason SSBB does so well even when its not peoples favorite series it still fits their gaming collection, as it is the "who would win if Link and Mario fought?" game, it's something for every fan, from the Mario players to the Pokemon players.
