Strange that it's not the Ninty fans who are bothered by this at all...

The primary audience for NSMBU don't care if it's 720p or 1080p, they'll get it anyway.
There goes my hope of Pikmin 3 being in 1080p :(
Going to pick it up anyway, this is the first 2D Mario I've been interested in a long time.

they can always release a FULL-HD remake later
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Likely this is probably the same as the issue with Blops 2: not native 1080p, but can and will be upscaled.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

They don't because Apple's high standards are essential to their brand and it's making them far more sales than the immediate cost reduction would. Did Iwata not attend Business 101? |
More like Business for Dumbies ;)
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
Let me add a question here: would it be a launch title if it was rendered at 1080p?
I think they would need to delay the title for at least 6 months in order deliver a game with the same content.

I think that's a bit disappointing..
ofcourse this won't make the game any less fun or make less people pick it up, but.. the hardware is clearly potent enough to render that game at 1080p60 (and send it to the pad at 60fps at it's native res at the same time), so why won't they make use of it?
