ROFL.

October 26 Surface storms the world with Windows 8.

Apple answer that day?

Heres an IPad no wait its an Iphone no wait its a Iphone large. Wait no its an Ipad mini.

ROFL.

So, wanna make a bet that by this time next year, Apple will have sold more iPad Minis than Microsoft sells Surface tablets?

Hell yes. Surface is confirme today to be priced identical to Ipad yet offers alot more functionality over Ipad. Microsoft are being highly praised for designing a tablet thats capable of more than cecking emailsand watching videos or surfing the web. Its what the tablet world needed.

Why even tell us we all know it's going to sell like hell because people go crazy over Apple! I really can't stand this world some times.

... remember 2 years ago when the first iPad was announced and released people mocked it and said no one will buy and tablets are useless cause it's just a bigger iPhone.. and now people are having a war about which tablet is better.. hmmm

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Isn't the Ipod touch pretty much the mini Ipad?

Why does that matter?  It isnt just microsoft making Windows8 tablets.  Its about Windows8 tablets more than it is about Surface.

It matters because the Surface is going to storm the world and Apple's response is the iPhone Large, rofl rofl.

If we wanted to compare OS sales, it would be Mac OS X and derivative unit sales versus Windows 8 and derivative unit sales... which actually could be an interesting contest over the next year. Could make a good side bet. I've seen the occaisonal public statement about Win 7, but does MS normally report OS unit sales in financials?

You're on Selnor. iPad Mini versus Surface unit sales next October. If we can't find reasonably reliable numbers because Surface tablets are being grouped in with all Windows-based tablets and/or iPad Minis are being grouped in with all iPads, we'll call it a draw.

Windows 7 is not only the fastest selling version of windows ever destroying Windows XP by hitting 500 million 4 months faster, but has now over 1 billion official licenses. Thats now over 1/7th of the estimated world population. Thats 93% of the TOTAL OS market which includes all IOS and Android. Just so you know.

Windows 8 even if it sells the worst is gonna sell 600 million copies. But its likely to sell more or the same as now Microsoft enter the tablet market officially, which cater to a whole new market that will be able to link every single app with their WP8 or Xbox without extra cost. Also it is more than what the current tablet market offers at the same price. Offering full Microsoft Office and the ability to connect any device.

Theres a reason wy Windows 8 tablets are impressing the media because effectively it now makes Ipad so overpriced as it kills Ipad in functionality and usage.

You're not going to win by spewing bullshit, Selnor. The latest numbers I've seen for Windows 7 are 600 million units back in June:

http://www.zdnet.com/with-600-million-sales-windows-7-closes-on-xp-4010026342/

Where's your source for MS selling 400 million licenses in four months?

Working back to Windows 7's launch suggests average sales of 19 million copies per month over the operating system's life. Apple is currently selling 17 million iOS and Mac OS devices per month (as of Apple's last quarterly financials), and Google claims to see 40 million Android activations in a month. So you see why I say a side bet on all sales of Windows 8, Windows RT, and WIndows Phone 8 versus iOS and Mac OS would be interesting.

Double or nothing?
