Might as well till 4G internet is fully implemented, and until iPad starts supporting xbox and ps3 controllers like android tablets

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

No need to wait. If Windows 8 tablets take off they will have to bring it to Windows 8. Then you can play on any PC monitor or a nice Surface rt 10.6" screen with your home connection. I have a constant 10mb. So it will be goodbye Playstation hello this surface + Nextbox for me.

Wow. The gaming world is shifting a lot lately.

I still like gaming on home consoles. On big screens. With controllers. Lying down. With games that I own the disk for.

I'm going to hold onto this style of gaming for as long as I possibly can :(

Onlive on my Android phone works fine with 30 mbs connection...

But without a controller, it is painful to play those games.

I still perfer playing games on my TV so I don't know if I could adjust. Gaming anywhere on just about anything seems a bit strange to me, plus mobile phone and tablets battery lifes are still terrible. I suppose i'm old fashioned but i like having games consoles and discs to buy. Although, if it came to Microsoft's surface tablet that would become my laptop :)

Did or is Sony about to make Playstation irrelevant?

Not even MS have put that many exclusives on other hardware.

Maybe PS4 isn't coming. Maybe PS3 will try and carry PS for the next 3 years until Sony feels that this is there route from now.

Hmmmmmm. GOW 3 on PC or imagine GOW3 and Killzone 3 on a Surface Pro. After all Surface Pro is packing huge hardware.

You wouldn't even need "huge" hardware if this here is true. The only thing you'd need is a good internet connection.

the new internet explorer app on the 360 for example.

Youd have to download an app. And theres no way Sony would flat out make an app for Xbox. Windows 8 yes, but Xbox no chance. That would completely destroy Sony's game department.  Ironically it would probably make them more profit, but their fanbase would murder them.

Why would it destroy Sony's game department? It would destroy their HW "center of the home" vision but not their SW vision, let alone their game department.

Should be quite interesting indeed

I meant fanwise. Its risky if you ask me. Going up against Xbox Live ( which surely Microsoft will fully implement for Windows 8 in the way Sony are ). If Microsoft do, Sony will lose this. Live is a proven million seller. Minecraft for example has sold more than most Disc based games and is still selling. It'll likely it 6 million before E3 next year. Developers wont be afraid of a service thats proven like Xbox Live. They will cling to it as its proven. The fact that Xbox Live is built into Windows 8 screams Microsoft are going the same route. And I have a funny feeling Microsoft will also give you the option to download the game for keeps on Live as well as a stream service.

This should be very interesting indeed.

Chrome doesn't come de-facto with Windows, yet is a widely adopted browser. The same can be said about a streaming gaming service like steam or gaikai, but this is a minor point. I don't see the disadvantage on Sony's part except a minor one, in the end it'll be the content that sells the streaming platform of choice.

@bold. Indeed!
