This is not just some cool app. There is absolutely no point in a custmoer paying for a streaming service that you get half of whats available on the same service via Vita or PS3. Please can people tink a little about this. Its like Steam being available on Android and only offering older games and some demos but still charging the customer for using the service. The last thing Sony wants is this to fail. Its important especially for the future that Sony has a unified platform accross devices otherwise people will choose other options which are unified. You may think it hurts tem now, but if they get tis wrong it will hurt them much more in the future as this service will only be more important in the future whereas hardware wont. |
You're acting like iOS and Android users are going to be missing out on a lot. They're not going to miss out on half of the games, they're just going to miss out on PS exclusive games. Those will probably only account for 5% of the total library. It's not like consumers are going to be upset that they can't play 5% of games.
And even if they do get upset, they don't have any other option. Consumers aren't going to be able to play PS exclusive games on another platform. If Sony only restricts Ps-exclusive games, then their service would still offer the same games as any other service. The only difference is PS devices would get extra games. Ios, Android, etc users would be getting the exact same games that could be provided by another service. They would have no reason to leave in the first place because Gaikai's library would be identical to any other service.
