Why is this news to you? Isn't it a simple puzzle game? There are PS360 games that run in 1080p 60hz. I would expect no less of the Wii U.

First post with nothing more to say than "so, the PS3 and 360 can do it to"? Well, you certainly aren't bothered by this news at all.

Where have you witnessed that the PS3 and 360 version run at 1080p 60 FPS? To my knowledge, their are no 360 games that run at native 1080p.

i am sorry. my English is far from perfect (not my first language, so i have a excuse)

but lilbroex, from what i can see from your profile, you're from the states... where is your excuse when the right word was used in the original quote...

i, and others, are trying to read forum threads in a foreign language, and that type of error can make it a lot harder... its not the first time you are misunderstood because your own fault.

on-topic - if people read half the threads the OP creates and believe 1/3 of what its written there... this is beyond expectable, so i am with kain in this one.

Your late. He showed that there were a few(very few) games that ran 1080p on the 360 though they were about as graphically intensive as Tetris.

That is why I said, "to my knowledge", because I was unaware of any at that time. I didn't say there weren't any at all, just that I knew of none.

i was arguing another thing, i guess it was very clear but with you i guess i have to be extra clear... you said, several times now, that AC III and batman AC in WII U will be 1080p and 60FPS, so how on earth would this game do less? the devs must be untrained monkeys to not do it, cause WII U is a wonderful and magical machine. (have to say this or else you will think i have something against WII U, witch is not true)

this is not news for you, this not old news, this is, no news at all for you,  judging by your posts in nindendo section of this forum. that was what kain point out and what i was agreeing...

BTW "if runs at 1080p" for you its FULL HD 1920x1080, then yes not many games in this gen... but have to mention that GT5 is 1.5 (1280x1080) HD resolution running at 60fps and same goes for Wipeout HD (full HD with dynamic resolution, but always 1080 horizontal lines, to maintain the 60fps) and those games are far from tetris (light years distance)
we can play these games for a while now... in MS and SONY platforms... you? but this is beyond what i was trying to say in my original quote of your post.

I provided you with a game that was a bit more graphically intensive.  You need to understand that the list was very short and truncated.

No, I said that it was "stated" that they would run at 1080p back then because "it was stated" by multiple sources. That has since changed for ACIII, but not for Ahkham City: Armored Edition to my knowledge.

GT5 and Wipeout HD aren't 360 games....that comment was specifially addressing the 360.

I never said or even inferred that the PS3 couldn't do 1080p. I just pointed to the fact that most games don't. Its not easy to achieve on the system. On the Wii U, however, it is.

Most third party Wii U games announced to date that aren't ports are stated to be 1080p.

Here are actual 1080p screens:

The point is that you see this game, and yet you simply can't believe that Puddle, a purely 2D game, is native 1080p as well on PS360.  A bit unreasonable, don't you think?

I can believe for the PS3, but on the 360.

And ewwwww, looks at those textures *eyes aliased 2d crowd in the stands again*.

Also, there is more than one 1080 resolution. As the guy pointed out earlier, GT5 was 1280x1080.

If the Wii U version was 1920x1080 then technically the would both be at 1080p but...

Correct, but if you check this list you'll be able to see which ones are 1920x1080.  All it took was a simple Google search, though this list hasn't been updated this year.  VT3, by the way, is 1920x1080 (2x AA).

ugh, beyond3d...

How did he acquire this list? It seems strange that there are only 2 nonpsn games that are that res and with 2xAA no less? That doesn't make any sense. What would be the point of 2XAA if that was the native resolution?

AA has nothing to do with resolution. Only a 1080p video played in sub HD doesn't benefit with AA.

AA has nothing to do with resolution. Only a 1080p video played in sub HD doesn't benefit with AA.

One of the biggest benefits of higher resolutions is that they eliminate aliasing. Applying AA to something at that resolution would destroy system performance unless it was simply upscaling the graphics to 1920x1080. The PS3 doesn't have the ram to pull that off with full HD textures much less the GPU strength. Not unless the actual physical textures were SD and there wasn't much going on onscreen.

This just isn't adding up.

wow this thread picked up a bit... so we all settled wiiU is more powerful than the ps360? and I wont see stupid comments like its the same or lower than current gen. good.
