Forums - Nintendo - The 3DS hurts my eyes

3DS is a great game system, Tons of good games out and coming out soon. Just turn off the 3D effect if it's not to your liking. Most games don't even use it except for silly gimmicks just to say it's "supported". Nintendo has essentially dropped the stereoscopic 3D aspect from all of it's promotion, so it's really not even an advertised feature anymore.

3D is awesome!!! I had it on at all times back when I had a 3Ds..well..except when playing zelda Oot and had to use the motion controls to aim.

The 3d hurts other people's eyes as well, hasn't this been discussed a while ago?

I experienced this when I played a demo at Wally World. I can't imagine playing with it for extended periods of time. Luckily, it has an off switch/slider.

I have no problems and play my 3DS daily.

Why am I seeing two of everything that I type?

It happened to me too. You will eventually get used to it. Try playing with the 3D at half intensity.

That's nice.

No it's not!

Made me lol.

I don't have any problems with the 3D. Sometimes when it's all the way up it looks weird to me, though. When I use the 3D I mess around with it a lot depending on what I'm playing. Something like Pushmo, I'll crank it all the way up and it looks great. Something like Sakura Samurai, where your sheathe is constantly poking back towards your face, I prefer having it on a very low setting -- but still on, because it looks fantastic. I usually play Kid Icarus with the 3D off entirely, but sometimes try it out.

Try it on a very low setting, see how that feels. If it still feels weird, just know that all of the games I've played are perfectly enjoyable in 2D.

I have always been fascinated by how people spend their entire lives watching the world in 3D, using nothing but both of their biological eyes. Then when this same 3D effect suddenly appears on a screen their eyes freak the fuck out.

Logically, I think it should actually hurt less and feel more natural to watch a 3D screen...

I think I've trained my eyes to be able to watch it for hours

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
The first time i tried the 3D i couldnt see anything, just a blur scene, after using it for a couple of h i got used to it
now i use it at max most of the time and it feels very natural
to sum up, the more you use it, the better you will see the 3D
