Forums - Nintendo - The 3DS hurts my eyes

I'm not trying to offend 3DS lovers, I really like the innovations the system brings but who tested this thing?  I have tried it at ebgames serveral times and everytime I crank up the 3D, my eyes literally go crossed and I feel a squeezing pressure on them.  My fiancee also experiences it but not to the degree that I do.

Out of curiousity, has anyone else had this problem?

3D doesn't affect me, did you try different levels of 3D with the slider?

Yeah I tried it on the medium setting and it's ok, when I go over I can start to feel the pressure.  I can't be the only one who experiences this LOL

You are not used to it and dont know hot to use it properly  :)   every person has different space between the eyes  so the slider has to be set different for every person  another factor is how far away was the device from your eyes.   What angle did you look at it.    It takes an hour or so to find out how to use it.

I never had headaches or something else.

Btw most peoples eyes hurt because they forget to blink.  I dunno why this is happening but i noticed this with some of my friends.

P.S.  Try to focus your nose   you will feel the same pressure  it happens when you try to focus on things that are to close to your eyes.  You need to keep some distance to the device.

To be honest only a few games gain any advantage using 3D, if you can only use to to 50% then you can still play 99% of the games.

Thats what the sliders for, it gives you the right 3D setting for you.

You're not alone, While mine never felt like that too me. It does wear on my eyes after about 30 mins, but I can play/watch 3D on my tv for much longer. I think it has a lot to do with screen size and distance away from the face. Do you have problems watching other forms of 3d media?

It takes a bit of getting used to it. In the beginning, I never had the slider cranked up to the max,but nowadays it's always maxed, since I got used to it after playing through some games. Also try not moving the 3DS a lot while playing cause it will make you dizzy, and also try to find the right angle and distance that suits you best. It's easier than it sounds.

yea, that's normal when the 3D setting is too high or the 3D image itself is broke, I get similar symptoms in these cases

adjust it to a level your eyes/brain are comfortable with
