Forums - Sales - USA Pre-Order Chart Up ! - 22nd September 2012

Sly 4 preorders continue to amaze me. It release somewhere in february and yet it have 45 k preorders. ( Of course many menat it release this year). I think with some decent marketing Sony can bring new life to the Sly Franchise.

God of War Ascention is looking to be big with over 50k preorders and releasing in the middle of march.

The Last of Us is also looking good considering it havent a release date yet.

Persone 4 amazes me. Never thinked it would be so big in US.

Hopefully Beyound soon enters the chart.

So how is Forza on Decline ? i know it sold less than Forza 3 but wasnt Forza 3 heavilly bundled? How did Forza 3 without bundle units? i want to know.

I Love Forza and i hate that people try to bring the franchise down when its the best racer out there, i dont see the point on bringing those Playstation games like All Stars down aswell, i never did that as far as i remember and this are pre orders and we all know VGC has been was off with this stats.

Forza 3 did 3m to 3.5m before being bundled.
Forza 4 is definitely doing worse for several reasons. It's late in the gen and software sales have gone back. Then they made Forza into a bi-yearly franchise, which didn't help either.

I don't buy those reasons for Forza 4. 2011 saw plenty of sequels achieving series record numbers. I believe 2011 was the biggest year for the 360's software sales. So software hasn't gone back. And Forza has always been a bi-yearly franchise.

Forza is a lot about legs and software in 2012 have been sub par for all consoles. Also the difference between Forza 3 and Forza 4 is too small. Reason for that is obviously a too short development time. It's not broken of course but the difference between Forza and Forza 2 (new console) and between Forza 2 and Forza 3 (using the capabilities of the console. Mostly better graphics) is far greater.

Fair enough, but now you seem to be explaining Blood-Tear's assertion, not disproving it.

I never tried proving or disproving Blood Tear's statement.
I seriously doubt that Forza Horizon will sell more than any other Forza game (except the first). It's a spin-off, it has changed it's formula, thus probably putting off older Forza owners (see sim racers vs. arcade/semi arcade racers).
That's just a logical assumption. Though that doesn't necessarily mean that the Forza franchise as a whole is on a decline. A mainline Forza game on the NextBox could easily outsell all previous entries.
It's like saying that Halo is on a decline when comparing numbers from Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST and Halo CE Anniversary (which did also not as good as quite a few thought last year because the focus was on other games). Obviously every game that sold worse than it's predecessor is technically on a decline, but that doesn't need to have an effect on the future of the franchise.

Well the no.1 sales open race title is already 4 years ago,and it's not high(Midnight LA,1.89m)

Target is making a massive push to "re-launch" their Electronics departments and gaming is becoming a focus. Right now the prototype stores (like the one I work at) and high traffic Target stores are expanding the available pre-order lists.

The biggest thing for my prototype store is that we've changed our Interactive Guest Assistance Kiosk in Video Games to now focus on upcoming games (either games that just released like Borderlands 2 to games that are almost out like Dishonored to games hitting in October and November mostly). It explains how to pre-order at Target, how to trade things in at Target and it is on a continuous loop of game trailers.

Of which one of them is for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (among countless other trailers of games hitting over the next couple of months)

I didnt even know Forza Horizans was going to be an arcade racer. I saw commercials but they didnt even show any gameplay footage, i dont think that will help it either. But its better than no commercials

That's what Sony says..."A commerical is better than nothing right?"... If only that worked...Stupid baby...and squirrels...and weird "11th finger"...

Gamestop is the VAST marketshare of preorders.

I know how many we have. And lets just say Halo and BO2 alone are over 1 million with a single retailer.

GameStop is also one of the few places to pre-order games.

*EDIT* In the USA that is.

i dont believe any of those numbers but it stills better than nothing i give us at least a sense of what is happening with these games... but yeah numbers are allways off, its nor the first time and wont be the last.
