Gears of War trilogy for sure. You might like Fable 2 if your into action/adventure games. Alan Wake is great if you don't already have it for Steam. Of course Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. There are a ton of excellent xbla games you buy like Shadow Complex, Trials Evolution, Bastion, Splosion Man, etc.

Its actually a pretty good game definetly one of the better 360 games.  I doubt he can find it for cheap in Austria though.  Bought my copy new for $19.99 in early 2009 when they had a sale on overstocked games.

Totally agree since it comes with a 60GB HDD at least its a newer fat model so his chances of getting a RROD are a bit less.

I'm sort of in the same boat. I plan to grab a 360 as soon as the deals come out, but as a PC/PS3 gamer, I'm kind of struggling to identify games to buy.

Halo for sure, I'm looking forward to that, but 3rd person cover shooters aren't my thing at all, so I doubt I'll get Gears of War. I have the Gran Turismo games, so I can't see Forza as a priority. I guess, then, that what I'm looking for are games I can't get on PC or PS3 which are worth playing.

Also, how far back is it worth going with Halo?
