Forums - Nintendo - Wii U won’t make Achievements Mandatory for all games.

? are you actually comparing a racer on a handheld to wiiu? LOL man the wiiu console has hit a new low then. Obviously a handhelds input methods will be limited for racers and will be designed as such. As it has always been it's much easier to control games like NFS on a home console controller (well not like ninty consoled have had a decent non MK racer in a long time or anything..so I guess you won't know this)

seriously..stop blindly defending every single thing about Nintendo. I have complimented wiiu when it's due and called it out when it's appropriate as well. Lack of analog triggers is a huge no no for a console racer. It's kinda sad you are even defending such a thing.

Defending... I'm actually defending the Vita game. You just said it won't be fun to play. I never attack quality.

It'll be a port of the game, an exact one, like the devs said. It'll not be "designed as such" and you praised it for that.

See Rol's post for the real defense here. No one cares.

Not really a big deal to most people, but it would have been a nice feature. I'm sure most developers will implement anyway. It probably only requires a small amount of resources to implement. And the result is potentially encouraging gamers to invest a lot more time into the game. I don't see why any developer would intentionally not implement the system.

Too bad. Achievements are fun as fuck.

You do know that they can still be implemented, right?

If Nintendo makes an unified API for that, they can. If there isn't an API, they can't do it. But the article is a bit confusing... I think they meant that they will have a trophy system (with an API), but it won't be mandatory to use it in games, or something like that. Anyway, we'll know for sure in November.

That's what I just said.

nope it's just that it seems I have hit a nerve with that comment. Look above and see another Nintendo fan agreeing with me. He understands the importance. The experience of a home console is much different to a handheld. I didn't have a great time with Burnout Legends because of excellent control options..but because I could crash cars on the go. So unless you can take the tablet controller on the bus...it's useless.

ugh ...now you are just making stuff up. Devs have not said anything about the tweaks or anything they will make for the game or gameplay. It's perfectly understandable to expect it tho because that's what any decent port does (case in point: SF vs Tekken Vita). But by all means...try and find anyone who talks about the control options as the reason why they are happy with the news...I bet you can't find a single person. The reason people are happy is cuz Criterion are great devs and the quality of the game will be guranteed in their hands. It will be an open world racing game on the go with great visuals. That's the hook of that

sigh not sure why I even had to tell you all this. No need to be so defensive (which you are being now..and you cared enough to comment about it :P) about this. It's a stupid move by Nintendo (IF confirmed, as mentioned above)...it serves no purpose at all to them or the customers. I really am trying to explain things with patience and even have a good discussion about these things here

Ugh... I don't see how it's a stupid decision.

Doesn't bother me. Achievements/Trophies add little or nothing of value to a game.

When did I say that I didn't know what Achievements are?

I'm not talking about Triggers if that's what you're thinking.

Then pay better attention than randomly posting. Me and Vic are talking about the triggers

Your argument backfired, that's the only thing I see.

And need for speed for Vita will be good either way. There won't be tweaks, and you know it. What's to tweak? Press this to accelerate and that to break, 99.98% of people happy
