lol well here's a thread that might help you understand what it is and why the lack of it sucks

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=491570

I'm still quite confused over the differences between the two.

:S I'm not sure how to put this into words ..ever played a racer on either ps3 or 360? you use the triggers to accel. It's the best way to do it racers like NFS for example. You can't do it now on the wiiupad.

lol I have no idea how else to simplify this more ...maybe someone will have better luck explaining it to you

Digital means it either on or off. Analogue means lots of varying degrees of pressure you can apply, so you can ''feather the throttle and brake'' gives you more control over cars in racing games.

THANK U!

well done putting it into words lol...i have it in my head but dunno how to say it.but this explains it perfectly.

all the 'signs' (lol not sure what else to call it..the rumors, hands on experiences etc) seems to say so

there was some people saying it's the same for the pro controller..but i believe that has been debunked now :S now sure tho..last read about it like a few days back

What makes me wonder though is that Project Cars is coming to WiiU and I would of thought analogue triggers would be a must. It is a racing sim?! To be fair though racing games are the only major game I can think of that really require analogue triggers.

well I think depending on the game and setup..shooters can gain from it too. But yea it's mainly racers. My issue is I don't see what possible reason ninty would have had to do this. Not like this is gonna save them money or anything. I mean imagine the upcoming NFS Most wanted on the wiiu...not gonna be fun playing on the tablet. So hopefully the pro controller info is correct. Maybe project cars is also optimized for the pro controller?

Ohhh! Thanks that makes a lot more sense.

How hard someone wants try to convince me wrong..not having an achievement system is simply something negative.

but honestly it is not that big of a deal, I managed to enjoy some Wii games without achievements =p.

While I don't care either way, I'll give two points:

1. The addition of an achievements sytem throughout the game has the ability to deter player's attention/focus from the game itself in order to unlock some arbitrary bit field in memory. Of course, this can be of benefit to some games that were not as stringent with quality control on the development process, but finely tuned games that make one want to stop and appreciate the detail put into it can be overlooked as "just another achievement points bag". People who play the game will  have more chance of not being able to recall memorable moments within a game, over thinking "yeah, the achievements were too easy". Clearly, this is a negative towards a company that focuses on a lot of detail in their gameplay, like Nintendo.

2. While having a small burst of replay value with an achievement system, how is the replay value on games that have had all achievements unlocked? Remember that a lot of Nintendo's games focus on replayability through groups and friends. How about the following:

Friend: How about we play Mario Party?

Gamer: Nah, I already unlocked all of the achievements in that game. It no longer has anything left for me.

I'm not saying this is always the case, but there is chance that it can spread disincentive, which Nintendo absolutely do not want. After all, the success of a lot of their franchises and titles are from interaction from their friend's copy. Personally a friend got me onto Mario Party, but I found Smash Bros myself back in the N64 days, and lured at least a dozen of my friends into the franchise.

I'm indifferent either way, whether an achievement system is implemented, I honestly wouldn't care. However, if someone uses such a system to justify why they're a better gamer than others, and they'll soon find themselves how well their gaming skills work in real life...

For you guys wanting an achievement like system, it's there. It's simply up to developers to utilize it or not.

Did some of you even read the first post before replying?

I want to believe they are talking about the unified system, not the achievements.
