@bolded: I'm sure it will most probably reflect what a lot of nintendo only fans are saying right now. Should go to show that there IS an appeal in such a system being in place. There are communities built around them as well. THis is such a simple thing to impliment...add an option to hide notification pop ups and it would have served ALL sides.

It's a good idea but I don't think Acievements must be implemented (Universally) for it to not be a "lost cause."

yes yes it is! Can't you already see in this thread evidence of people finding this to be negative news? They are not alone in this. PS360 had this for years now and with great results. People love it.

Don't get me wrong..I don't have a single platinum (first one is coming soon tho) lol but even I think the system is awesome. There are so many positives to it. It's not a lost cause if Ninty decides to smarten up and do this rather simple implimentation of a universal system. This is the same as the trigger news I heard a few days back..it makes no sense

They are implemented. Just not obligatory.

Answer me if you have played before. How do you put achievements on Ace Attorney, for example?

If you haven't, it's a game where every single playthrough is the same, for everybody. Everybody achieves the same thing when they finish it.

It'd probably be for clearing each chapter plus clearing them without messing up. Same with Professor Layton, except you get an achievement for solving a certain amount of puzzles too.

And? That is not a new thing at all. Ever played walking dead? It's the simplest form of achievements/trophies and is similar to what you just described

and as leatherhat said above..there is no universal system in place. People will (as shown in this thread already) find this as a negative. it's such a simple thing to do and I think it's stupid not to bank of this.

If you want to talk about the pros and cons of such a system..I can do that too. But that might be off topic

hmm been a few days since i read this so I don't know if this has been debunked yet..if so would love someone to correct me on the matter

wiiu pad does not have analog triggers..just digital. This basically is HORRIBLe news for certain games like majority of games in the racing genre

Sorry, but I knew someone would say that... of finishing the game in a certain amout of time.

That would suck for the game... as no sane mind replays it, knowing how it solves itself. Really awful... achievements used to make the game worse, as no one plays it thinking of "messing up"

What's the difference between the two? I literally don't know what you are talking about.

I'm still quite confused over the differences between the two.

Digital means it either on or off. Analogue means lots of varying degrees of pressure you can apply, so you can ''feather the throttle and brake'' gives you more control over cars in racing games.
