It can't hurt to have it on Wii U.  It can ONLY help.  And that's beneficial enough.

Besides, anybody would want MH on their favorite home console in Japan despite it not being as popular on home consoles.  Japanese gamers bought the shit out of this game on Wii.  Again, not as many units as the PSP or 3DS versions but it still moved systems - which is very beneficial.

Of course, Just for those those who say this means nintendo automatically wins next generation, I don't remeber MHP3rd doing anything special for the ps3. Still this is a nice laucnh title.

Monster Hunter Tri G (Pretty much same we are getting just with online and different name)

I don't see how this can be classified as a port...

It does. I don't know about gamecube games, but I think it does too.

Very unlikely: even the Wii doesn't play Gamecube games (the Gamecube-compatible model has been discontinued).  However, it is reasonable to speculate that some GameCube games might appear as Virtual Console for Wii U.
