Forums - Sony - How soon can Vita break 15%?

When will Vita hit 15%?

Before xmas 7 16.28%

By the end of 2012 9 20.93%

Jan 3 6.98%

Feb 1 2.33%

March 3 6.98%

By the end of 2013 20 46.51%

Total:43

Its like back when the DS had sold more than it shipped here. VGC didnt update numbers until it got solid data, knowing WHERE it was over.

Im assuming the same is happening for Vita. WHERE is it overtracked, people?

It is currently below 15% in weekly marketshare... which means if things don't change it will never get there. You guys realize it can only go up as far as its weekly marketshare right?

It will have a boost this coming week as it sold 45-50k in Japan... and while it's probably going to fall back to 35-40k per week again, it will probably get a higher percentage boost in sales over the holidays than the 3DS. I doubt it will manage to break 20% of 3DS sales in any given week, but the bigger numbers mean more during the holiday so it won't take as many weeks to break 15% as long as it is selling 17-18%. (admitedly I am basing this on the current VGC figures... no one has yet convinced me Vita has indeed been overtracked, but there is a good chance it has been)

Compare Sony shipped numbers on June 30 (2.2 millions) to VGChartz numbers on the same date (2.4 millions)

Link me to those figures then... last time I asked someone linked me to an article which said that a Sony employee had mentioned the 2.2 million figure (and nothing about a date)

I agree that, assuming he was correctly interpreted, the likelyhood is that Vita had shipped 2.2 million by June 30th... but I haven't seen proof or even a proper quote (so I can assess what he said myself)

Just how many jabs are you going to throw at the Vita? OT: Maybe this year. I don't know.

This is not a jab. I said "bound to go up". How is that a jab?

Why is every Vita thread viewed as negative? By Sony fans, no less.

Thanks... I can't read German though... And unless German grammar practice is different I don't see a direct quote.

Tried google translate this time and it does give all the details at least, and has the word 'confirmed' in there.

Piracy is inbound so that won't take much longer.

If it doesn't do it by the Wii U's launch, unfortunately, I don't think it'll make it at all.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
