Forums - Nintendo - WiiU to launch November 11??

A BLOPS2 bundle could be a little bit of a game changer for Nintendo I think, provided the Wii U version

A) Actually uses the Wii U Pad in some interesting way
B) Is better (even if slightly) than the PS3/360 versions (none of these AC3 excuses)

That might be their big unveil/announcement on Sept.13th.

About the wiipoints... well, given Nintendo's new focus on digital content that we've heard about, giving the customers some free points/money to allow them to try it without regrets would be a good idea.

They gave away 1000 points to early DSi adopters, so they could do something similar with the WiiU... although they didn't do such thing with the 3DS, just a free title.

The DSi had as one of its focus internet and DSiWare, so it made sense to include them. The 3DS "only" followed its steps.

Now the question is how do they see the WiiU, a new beginning or just an upgrade from Wii's digital aspect?

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I'm hoping for an upgrade so I can pass my VC/WW, but I also want some free points to download. Can't we have it all?

We will know soon enough.

Really good prices if true. Hell, for 250 € I would think about geting one at launch. As for the others, it'd depend on what each bundle has.

My cautious prediction is:

249 $/€ => Console + controller

299 $/€ =>  Console + controller + Nintendo Land

349 $/€ => Console + controller + Nintendo Land + Pro Controller.

Maybe they'll include some Wiipoints (if they continue with them) on the 2 more expensive bundles, but I don't see them bundling a third party game.

That`s a good proposition, but i`m more inclined to the 349 bundle including not a Pro Controller but a Wii Remote and Nunchuck for the simple reason that Nintendoland will probably only use the Wii Remote for multiplayer. So, better offer something that people would use than something they wouldn`t use from the start.

Wii points being offered is a bit... maybe they could offer, for registration of the products, more stars than your 249 bundle.
Or just offering some eshop game for the 349 bundle, like they did with Excite Bike for 3DS (free for a limited time).

I thought about the wiimote+nunchuck option, but how many people will see them worth those extra 50 $/€? Certainly, many Wii owners won't.

Well, Wii owners can buy the 249 bundle instead. Leaving the 349 for those who don`t own a Wii.
If the game focuses heavily or solely on Wiimotes for MP, than the combination actually saves people money - by about 20€/$.

If true, this is very similar to what I had said previously:

"This could be a multiple SKU strategy for Nintendo:

Basic SKU:  $249 for just the console/tablet

Bundle SKU:  $299 with Nintendoland

Deluxe SKU:  $329 with Nintendoland and a Wii remote plus"

Now if I could only do that with lottery numbers...

You're apparently quite a clever man ;)

Well, we'll see what happens on the 13th; they could definitely still prove all of us - and the rumors - wrong.

I think the $249.99 SKU is just to be able to advertise the price point.

I don't think many people will buy it (much like 360 "tard pack"). It's just there as a marketing point to say "Wii U - $249.99!", but once people get to the store they'll probably opt to buy the bundles instead.

Once that credit card comes out ... that's all Nintendo needs to get to.

I think all Wii U consoles should come with some free Wiiware points just to get people signed up and create an account and used to the idea of downloading content. Wii U is going to be account based from what I understand.

249.99 = Wiiu Gamepad + System + NintendoLand

299.99 = Wiiu Gamepad + System + Nintendo Land + New Super Mario Bros U

349.99 = Wiiu Gamepad + System + Pro controller + Nintendo Land + ZombieU+ Hdmi cable

That sounds like it is in the ballpark to me.  I would end up having $299 with also SMBU, and an addition memory card for storage.  $350 includes HDMI cable to also a second Gamepad.

Does Microsoft have a BLOPS2 360 bundle this year?

I see the Halo 4 bundle but haven't heard anything about a new CoD bundle (maybe I just missed it).

If Wii U is getting BLOPS2, I could see a Wii U (black model) + Black Ops 2 + Wii U Tablet + Classic Controller Pro bundle. That likely would be the $349.99 one.

$249.99 - Package for budget shoppers/people who want a specific game.
$299.99 - Package with Nintendo Land for most casual Wii shoppers
$349.99 - Black model w/Black Ops 2 to try and show the Wii U is for hardcore players

But unlike the 360's tard pack the lowest priced Wii U will be able to go online and play all games the more expensive ones can. ;p

Oh yeah~! That's my 1 Year Anniversary on here! :3
