I stick by my prediction of 5.5 to 6 million vita's sold by new year. But, we will see

I never predicted numbers, but I said that the console race would be similar to an Xbox versus a PS2 with Nintendo games.
Seems that's pretty much what's happening.

Even the lowest one (5.5 million) is hard to achieve, since no japanese launch numbers make its chances even worse, but congrats on Yonix, he will probably get the closest prediction to reality.

It's failing just as bad as the PS3 did during the first two years of its life. There were even a few months where the GBA outsold it back then.

It doesn't bode well for the PS4 either considering that they're going for another high spec console again - 2-4GB RAM and a 1.8TFlop GPU doesn't bode well for retail pricepoint and future sales imo. And the 720 is looking more powerful than that in terms of RAM. If the PS4 and 720 are priced higher than $400 then they might as well not bother releasing them.

As for the Vita, it needs a price cut desparately, and Sony have said they're not going to do that this year. The sales so far are pretty close to Dreamcast levels.

Looks like I had one of the closer predictions at 6.4m.

Surprised to see Kowenicki predict 9m considering he was one of the biggest supporters of the handheld market fading.

it actually looks like every console was overestimated by a considerable amount.
