NightDragon83 said: And not surprisingly, this thread quickly devolved into a "360 RUINED FINAL FANTASY!!!" thread. Yeah, if only it remained a PS3 exclusive, they could have shoved even more overdramatic cutscenes into the game featuring "lossless audio" and other tech stuff that Sony fans splurge over, and this would have guaranteed the game AAA status and made it the best FF ever. Much easier to place the blame on evil M$ instead of on Squeenix for making a generic, uninspired JRPG that's stuck in the 20th century in the first place. |
Thanks NightDragon, i wasnt even going to bother with those two, because i knew that was the direction it was going to go, despite the fact that the game was mostly done BEFORE they even started porting it to 360, but whatever, and this is coming form a guy with no 360.
I will give them Tekken, because it was a pain in the ass to have to wait for that because of 360 but that game was a let down mostly because of the horrible scenario mode which had nothing to do with it being ported to 360, hell ill go so far as to say the PSP version is the best one because it DOESNT have scenario mode

Latching on to the first voice coming from your side... What's the matter? Can't argue your own points? Nightdragon's post is referring to cloud's *or at least does not make mention of mine*, so don't sneak me into the argument with "bother with those two". You want nothing more than to avoid responding to my post right?
NightDragon- in the case you can't read, has a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT reasoning as to why FF13 is bad. He says it's uninspired, and a bad game. I completely disagree. The first shit-storm on the internet came when someone posted the maps and the entire game was a hallway. The second shit-storm occurred no world map, the third when the sidequests list was leaked. In fact, I would say that FF13 is probably one of the best ff gameplay wise, EXCEPT for those cut features.
So do you understand what I'm saying here? Hold out your two hands, on the left you have nightdragon saying the game is bad because of unoriginality. In your right hand you have people saying that game is bad because it is missing towns, sidequests, exploration, world map (something every game has had pre ff13 in much higher amount, and highest in the higher selling ff's)
So left hand and right hand. Nightdragon's argument that the game is bad does not preclude our argument for why it was bad. He can go on thinking it was unoriginal or bland, and it doesn't change that the game is physically missing lots of things that make a game ff. Understand? His retort is not even a retort! Which makes your latching onto it...desperate, because you can't even logically put together that his argument fits wholly whithin ours. ND is simply trying to take both reasons and say that the game sold poorly MORE because of unoriginality than anything else. However, once again WE have the evidence. towns, map, sidequests, etc...every high selling ff has had them in abundance, and they were the first things the Japanese gamers posted online igniting shit-storms everywhere. I am good enough to say that unoriginality may have contributed to lower sales, but the main detraction was that it's half of a final fantasy.
I also don't like your quote of "i didn't bother with those two, because I knew the direction it was going". Not that I'm offended by it, but that I think it's wrong, and here is what you meant to say.
"I made this thread because I have my own viewpoint that people who get mad are fanboys and nothing they say will change that, because I've constructed my own understanding of the industry"
