Hell yeah! wikileaks was great for the Taliban who used Wikileaks to hunt and murder people named.

Please link some evidence that specific people died.

It was a mistake by Wikileaks to not redact those names but it doesn't invalidate their purpose.

100% against wikileaks ...

You don't promote a free an open society by leaking information, which ultimately will require the government to be far less open; you promote a free and open society by demanding transparancy from your government.

If it was an open society then why would their be leaking of information.  The freedom of information act can still be easily denied by the government.  If the government was truly open (USA) then why do you think they deny so many freedom of information act requests?  The fact is that it isn't open.

Yes, and wikileaks is going to make things worse ...

You get a more open society by demanding a more open society, by stealing/leaking the information you are (effectively) demanding that the government be more closed off and protective of the information they have.

A government doesn't just bow down to pressure like that. If they want to become more transparent, they will take measures to do so but if they don't want to, they will ignore you and hope you give in. Governments can be very stubborn!

Wiki leaks is not a bad site. I just think them leaking detailed FBI/military secrets was pretty dumb. They put peoples lives at risk when they do that and compromise missions and intel. If they would have just stuck to regular subjects they wouldn't be in hot water. They will never let this guy go now. He can hide in that embassy all he wants but he stole us intel and or published it.

Let me get this straight... How the fuck would it put FBI lives at risks...  FBI is supposed to opperate inside the USA only.  The CIA is supposed to opperate only on foreign soil.  So if FBI was leaked the person would have to be within the country to rightfully kill them (unless they were working outside their jurisdiction).  I don't see how it could possibly put FBI members at risk.  Now if you went with CIA that would be better but the CIA doesn't do jack shit anyways (aka usually fucks shit up).

From what I gathered from the few links you provided it was only Afghans being targeted.  I really don't give a shit about any of those bs wars anymore.  Who cares if ~100 people ("The Taliban reportedly has targeted at least 100 Afghans identified in the documents as informants for the US-led counterinsurgency -- and may already have claimed its first victim.") were killed from the report.  That is about the same as a few bombs being dropped at the beginning of the war.  So now I am supposed to care for these civilians because they are being killed over a supposed document when millions of civilians have already been killed in the two bs wars.  Basically, I don't give a fuck.  What is a few more hundred lives added to the millions?  Nothing

Get off your ass and use google!

Link (1) provides 1 example
Link (2) says " may already have claimed its first victim " (lol)
Link (3) has no examples at all

So... 1 death? Bear in mind all these names were accessible to anyone who could access the government intranet; tens of thousands of people with just a basic level clearance. They could have got his name from anyone who'd managed to get a low level US government job in certain departments. Meanwhile the US has killed at least hundreds of innocent Afghans in order to kill the Taliban members.

Also it's not my job to use google, because you are the one making the claim.

Just goes to show how sad society has become, its ok becuase its only Afghans.
