In 2010 I worked 3 days and then was sent home.   I happen to come off a second back surgery earlier this year, and now trying to get back on my feet.  Still have not gotten clearance from a doctor to be able to lift, which impacts a lot of work. In 2009, I worked 20-30 hours doing Jr. Tech stuff via Manpower, which didn't pan out.  I also, since 2007, started a non-profit, put in long hours and didn't get paid for any of it.  I got a ton of grief from that actually.  I ended up maxing out my unemployment in the mean time.  I also returned back home so I wouldn't lose everything and fully be on welfare.

Reality?  You think I want anyone to feel sorry?  What I want is a break to get things work.  I certainly want no pity, and with your attitude you display, I certain don't figure you are a person who is going to be of much help to anyone.

For the record I supported Bunning's filibuster. Let's force the takers to work crap jobs while they find something better instead of sitting around feeling like they are "better than that."

And on another note, it does appear you are opposed to what Paul Ryan said:

well i hope you get a break as i do know what it is like to get near the bottom, fortunately over here you get some pretty good help and a bedsit/flat if you are lucky to get you back on your feet and earning again, not that everyone takes the opportunity of course

you seem to be into the political side of things too, what about getting into that side of things as a volunteer,it might lead to something but keep your head up and don't disappear, what else can one do apart from keep going on,whatever you decide to do as regarding going all the way down and back up,like i say i do not understand the us welfare system and what it offers so do not really know

I had a priest at my church say to get involved.  I call up one of the political parties to ask them to get involved.  I was told to attend a meeting.  Then I was told not to attend that meeting, because it was internal business.  I express some concerns and reservations about things and ask what the next step was, and the person I corresponded with via email said they didn't understand the question.  If a political party can't understand that question, there is no hope for them. The other party near where I am is Republican, and unless they care to explain how they don't care about anyone but the "successful", then I don't see myself trying to do anything to help them.

On the political front there was the issue with myself doing stuff for the Ron Paul campaign in 2008 (got dragged into it via people I knew) and also Occupy last year.  I could argue both were mistakes.  NEVER do stuff unless there is some sort of payout.

Disappear happens if I lose the Internet.

Would need more info about where you are, total assets, and what in particular government programs you are a part of.

In general though, housing is extremely easy to find.

In the area I work at for example, there are tons of houses where people split the rent with each other 5-6-7 ways to where people who don't even get welfare seem to live pretty decent.
