I had a priest at my church say to get involved. I call up one of the political parties to ask them to get involved. I was told to attend a meeting. Then I was told not to attend that meeting, because it was internal business. I express some concerns and reservations about things and ask what the next step was, and the person I corresponded with via email said they didn't understand the question. If a political party can't understand that question, there is no hope for them. The other party near where I am is Republican, and unless they care to explain how they don't care about anyone but the "successful", then I don't see myself trying to do anything to help them.
On the political front there was the issue with myself doing stuff for the Ron Paul campaign in 2008 (got dragged into it via people I knew) and also Occupy last year. I could argue both were mistakes. NEVER do stuff unless there is some sort of payout.
