Would need more info about where you are, total assets, and what in particular government programs you are a part of.
In general though, housing is extremely easy to find.
In the area I work at for example, there are tons of houses where people split the rent with each other 5-6-7 ways to where people who don't even get welfare seem to live pretty decent.
