Forums - Nintendo - Lords of Shadow 2 will not be produced in the "Wii U" to be a new console

The producer of the series Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Dave Cox, used the framework of the GameCom 2012 to comment on his twitter some details of the upcoming Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate for Nintendo 3DS, a game that will finally be released in following year. However, he has used his social networking account just to talk about Mirror of Fate, and announced the development of a PC version of Lords of Shadow 2. Answers come fast, because then confirm the PC version, it said that there will be the title for the Wii U, offering a reasonable response from the business perspective:

How many people have a Wii U? Zero. How many people have a PC? A lot. Never say never to the Wii U, but it is difficult to do so - Dave Cox

Thus, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will not be on the Wii U because it is a new console, and its installed base is very small in its first months. From the standpoint of a business is a very understandable reason. See for yourself at this link.

I believe "that" it wasn't coming to the system was posted but not why.

That is the headline from the original article so I left it as is.

could come later, maybe they can probably port the first one to the WiiU and then maybe port the 2nd one a year later.

In the year 1991, Nintendo was preparing to release the SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM onto the video game market, and guess what? Konami had a little gen titled "SUPER CASTLEVANIA 4 ready to go at launch. There is no difference between then and now other than the simple fact that 3rd parties hating on Nintendo now. If this was a sony or microsoft console preparing for launch, you better believe konami would be 100% on board with a castlevania game. In the long run it doesn't really matter because Nintendo can carry a console all by themselves.

The small install base of Wii U has nothing to do with this decision. By the time LoS 2 is coming out (late Spring 2013 at the earliest) the Wii U will have at least 5 million consoles sold, which right there guarantees much much higher sales than a PC version.

I think the real reason is politics behind the scenes. There's a deal between Sony/MS and the big publishers to discriminate the Wii U and sadly Konami seems to belong in that group.

There were rumors that Konami specifically wasn't planning to support Wii U at all for some reason.
