Forums - Nintendo - Lords of Shadow 2 will not be produced in the "Wii U" to be a new console

WiiU does not have a user base yet so why is Nintendo releasing games for it?

stupid Nintendo!

So it's gonna have a PC version... big deal. It's not like people actually buy PC games.

Do they?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Nobody bought Lords of Shadow...and it was released on well established platforms, so I guess they're saving themselves more effort for even less returns

The small install base of Wii U has nothing to do with this decision. By the time LoS 2 is coming out (late Spring 2013 at the earliest) the Wii U will have at least 5 million consoles sold, which right there guarantees much much higher sales than a PC version.

I think the real reason is politics behind the scenes. There's a deal between Sony/MS and the big publishers to discriminate the Wii U and sadly Konami seems to belong in that group.

There were rumors that Konami specifically wasn't planning to support Wii U at all for some reason.

This certainly adds credibility to that rumor.

If that is the case, then why did they announce PES 2012 for WiiU to begin with?

This is just another reason why I won't believe in such "rumors".  I'm sure we'll see a Castlevania on the WiiU eventually, maybe not this particular title.

I doubt Konami will want to avoid supporting WiiU, especially if the system really does take off with hardcore gamers.  And Nintendo themselves have admitted that they don't want to carry a console by themselves anymore.  I'm sure we'll see Konami's franchises eventually appear on WiiU.

could come later, maybe they can probably port the first one to the WiiU and then maybe port the 2nd one a year later.

Or, maybe better yet, create an all-new Castlevania for WiiU.  Although I'm fine with getting LOS both parts anyway.  And c'mon, he DID say "never say never" too, so... you never know.

Furthermore:  David Cox says in that same Twitter document that he LIKES the WiiU.  He is interested in it.  He even says that he works with Nintendo.  Proof?  Here it is:

"I like Wii U and work very closely with Nintendo as you can imagine."

He even added that there are terms that he really can't get into that explains why WiiU missed LoS2.  But "like I said, never say never."  So don't write this off beforehand.

What is the percentage of Wii U gamers who have pirated Darksiders 2 on the Wii U so far? 0%.

What is the percentage of PC gamers who have pirated Darksiders 2 on the PC? 99%.

See I can do fun things with numbers too.

DOn't be blaming Cox for this, guys. He needs to get clearance on funding from Konami to make any version of the game, and apparently he had to try really hard to get the PC version green-lighted.
