Onlive is streaming gaming not mobile.. you play a game using someone else his computer while getting the videofeed on your TV, Laptop, iPad, smartphone etc.. no need to buy a brand new console or PC every few years, just a fast enough internet connection..

Kotaku just had the story. They are filing for a form of Bankruptcy that protects them from creditors, so they have to create a new company to lighten their debt load, at least that is what I got from the read.

I think it's unlikely at this point, but it would be a good lesson if everyone who bought games through OnLive lost them due to this. When buying into the cloud you're always taking the risk that the company and the products you 'own' will disappear overnight.

Kind of hate for that to happen. (It happened to me buying from D2D, which was bought by Gamefly), since they will be a new company they don't need to honor the purcase. (but it would buy them loyalty points if they bit that bullet)

To an extent, this is true for Steam as well, but:
a) The chances of Valve going bankrupt are zero.
b) Everything is on your system, so Valve might be nice enough to disable the DRM, or the hacking community could do it.
Subscribing to OnLive is playing with fire, yes.
