Forums - Nintendo - Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition Wii U Box Art Released

The official Wii U box art for Batman: Arkham City has been released featuring the caped crusader looking all cool and kick-butt for Nintendo's upcoming new-generation home console. In addition to releasing the official box art, Warner Bros., has also sent out a brand new Catwoman render to give gamers a small taste of what the fatal feline will look like in the game.

Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition is a basically a retread of Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham City which released last year for home consoles and PC. The Wii U version of the game will include additional combat mechanics, new gadgets, the use of the WiiPad to perform specific in-game actions as well as an all new armored-up Batman to run around Arkham City with. Check it out below.

A lot of gamers have been wondering why the game would even be worth the purchase if they already bought it the first time around for either PC, PS3 or Xbox 360. Well, one answer to that is the use of the Wii's touchscreen for a versatile new way to play the game. If that doesn't really seem like it's worth the warrant of a purchase, there's also the inclusion of ALL of the game's previously released DLC packs jam-packed into a one-time purchase retail package. You have to admit, paying once for a game and getting all the DLC included (on the disc) probably looks mighty tempting to a lot of gamers. You don't have to worry about disc-locked content or paying full price for the game and then later realizing some vital content is missing or absent or requires an extra $6.99 to access the rest of the game...or the ending.

There's also an additional mode for Arkham City Armored Edition called the B.A.T. Mode or the Battle Armored Tech Mode. I guess this is all being jam packed into the game to try to convince newcomers that it's worth a full retail purchase.

You can look for Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition to launch this holiday season alongside the Wii U. You can check out that Catwoman render below.

YESSSSS. As the one comment says, All of the DLC will be put in this game and then some making it superior to ALL other versions of the game. Even the PC.

I generally don't like ports but I do believe I will be getting this one.

NOTE: This is not what the actual box looks like. The site used a compressed image that was lower quality and it make the colors look saturated.

Even though this is late compared to the other versions, This is how a port should be made!

The box art is nice. However, I thought the top part containing the Wii U logo was blue not cyan, or are my eyes deceiving me?

i would never guessed that i would be jealous at nintendo gamer as an xbox gamer :/
THIS LOOKS SEXY!!!

I bought Arkham Asylum like three times (yeah, one of them came free with Arkham City......). I think I can be persuaded to play through Arkham City again.

I might get this or may not, the fact it has all the DLCs is a good reason for me to get it, but since I probably wont be getting a Wii-U until after 2 years...I might get the PC version (older version) instead ;x.

You can get the PC Goty version, which has all the DLC

So....the Wii-U version only brings in controls with the tablet controller? That sucks, guess I'll get the PC version.

Along with inferior graphics compared to the PC version ;o. So, if you plan on upgrading your PC soon enough I'd suggest that.

You mean improved graphics that don't even exist in the PC version. At the end of the day the PC version is just the 360/PS3 version without there limiations.

The Wii U version actually has more objects and effects implemented that simply do not exist in the other versions on top of the Upad addiations.

Wrong...ever heard of Nvidia Physx?

Along with other advantages like:

Directx11
Potential of a higher resolution
Better AA
Vsync

The Wii U version has some slightly changed lighting effects here and there, where are the "more objects"?

Edit: And you're basically saying that more objects means better graphics, while undeniably sharper graphics are not better.

Just look at the screen shots. Also, it has been reported that the Wii U supports tech that is DX11 level. Well the reports actually say that it has a DX11 tessellation units but I just don't find  that to be likely personally.

The Wii U version runs at a higher native res than the PS3 and 360 and I doubt most people have monitors that are higher resolution than there T.V. to actually display it. It run at 60 FPS. Thats more than sufficent so I don't get where you are coming from with vertical syncronisastion. That nots really a benefit that adds to a game.

Better AA? Possibly but that only becomes relevent if there is a big AA problem and since it runs at a higher res, I doubt there will be.

Barely played any of this game so I'll be buying this version for sure.

V-sync eliminates tearing (while limiting the FPS) and tearing IMO is one of the most annoying things this generation had to offer.

Still waiting for you to clear up what you meant by more objects and effects...have you seen the DX11 Arkham City PC version with Physx running? It adds a lot of effects and objects, as well as improving the physics (smoke, objects, cape etc.)

Yes, I've seen it. I've seen comparison vids with it an the PC version without it. The difference it added were marginal but the Wii U is more than capable of doing them all. Also, as I recall, the other version don't have the armored suits.
