Forums - Nintendo - Another Developer says: Wii U graphics are “on par with PS3, maybe better” *Ediot* Eurogamer has been naughty...

Here we go again...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Whether or not it's true, this isn't good news. The fact that this is even a debate shows that:

1) The Wii U is really not that much more powerful than current gen consoles
2) Developers feel like bashing Nintendo
3) These developers don't actually understand what the hardware can do

Note that he's comparing it to PS3, not 360. PS3 is ridiculously powerful... recall how much it cost at launch. It makes sense that Wii U won't be too much more powerful than PS3, and honestly it doesn't have to be. They're still not getting everything they can out of the PS3, and Wii U seems to be easier to develop for. If Wii U was dramatically more powerful than PS3, it would be too expensive for Nintendo, their customers, and developers.

No it does't show any of those things. There were people who thought the PS1 had better graphics than the N64. There were people who debated whether the Wii had better graphics than the PS2...some still think the PS2 has better graphics for that matter.

Most make these arguments because it puts them in higher standing with Sony and Micrsoft was well as there fanbase. They are saying what they want to here.

Of course this may be another scenario with words being taken out of context like they were with the Tekken devs comment. It doesn't sound like he is stating what the console can do at max. He's saying what he has observed it to do at the least as far as I can tell.

Fact of the matter is that every known Wii U third party game is outputing at higher resolutions and frame rates than the PS3 or 360 on top of rendering to a second screen. That says enough.

well according to develops the WiiU is weaker, almost as strong is, on par, a bit stronger and much more stronger then the PS3 and Xbox 360... im tired of all these developers nonesense and all these threads about how strong it is as every developer is just talking crap from there asses. honestly this is how i feel when ever i see one of these developers comments

i mean no offense to the OP but i just think this has become a stupid subject for developers to still be talking about

Um, No. Ps3 is slightly more powerful than the 360 if not the same. It only cost so much at launch due to Sonys investment in overly-complicated processors which were doomed to fail at the start, and blu-ray.

Back on topic. I don't expect nintendo to make a console that is only a little more powerful than current gen. There's nothing stopping them from making another gamecube, or 64.

Even a little better is actually really good I think. Just look at "The Last of Us". Looks amazing on the PS3! If the Wii U can push out stuff like that, but a little better then we are in for a nice treat this gen.

As far as I´m concerned, I´m in for a nice treat already, since FINALLY we get Mario & company in HD.Playing games in high definition has kinda spoiled me, and playing Wii games on my 60" HDTV sucks a lot.

So, anxiously anticipating their 1st party titles in HD, with (possibly?..probably?) even better graphics than the best the 360 and PS3 have to offer.

Wii was a little better than the Gamecube, spryan...

The only difference is that the Wii U is not going to be a little better than the Wii. It is going to be a lot better. Peh-zuus.

How do you know? Do you work for Nintendo o.O? People said the PS3 would be better than the PS2 in sales , etc, but it isnt, the same can apply for Nintendo's next system just like what happened with the N64 , people saying it would be better than the SNES.

Off topic a bit but for me its

SNES > GCN = N64 > Wii = NES

For me it´s:

SNES > NES > N64 > Wii > GCN

And....SNES > all

SNES is king :)

I think more importantly look at titles like Crysis 3, Hitman, the animations in AC3 and of course this:

But even so, Wii U is supposed to have a GPU based on the AMD Radeon HD 4770. Which is a clear 2x more powerful than PS3 and 360 GPU.
