Forums - Gaming - Worst game you have played and why?

Most disappointing: Mass Effect 2. Never played ME but bougt ME2 since there was such a hype and I thought it looked really great. Sadly it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Worst: don't know, probably some C64 game ages ago

That's a tough.

Worst:

Call of duty 3 Xbox (original)

Most Disappointing:

Skyrim

- Poor story
- No memorable characters
- Uninteresting world
- Repetitive gameplay and missions.
- PS3 Performance issues

how was skyrim bad? I mean, the story wasn't mass Effect, but it was still pretty darn good. Plenty of memorable characters, world was easily the most interesting of the Elder Scrolls series....but that's just me.

Definitely had repetition issues and performance problems on PS3.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

I would have to say The After Years.

As a big fan of Final Fantasy IV, this sequel really just gives you a taste of something that could have been amazing, the revisiting of an epic world. Instead, we got to replay the stories of different characters starting from level 1 every time and having to obtain startup weapons every time. To compound to that we had a sub-par team work on it, sucking out all the awesomeness of FFIV in the process. Had I wanted to spoil the story for you guys, I would tell you what the main story told, and that was a cheap redo of the original story.

Runner up: Punch-Out!! (Wii)

The original another favorite of mine, though this game comes close to a great experience, the whole "American Daily" feel of the first game was entirely shoplifted, as well as the gripping humor of the first incarnation. Nevertheless this game has its qualities so it isn't an utter disappointment.

Superman 64 ...

OMG, I was in a Digital Press Videogames shop a few years back looking at old games, and I saw that on the N64 shelf.  I was like, oh wow, I didn't know there was a Superman game on N64.  So, I bought it.  I go home and pop it in and the game opens with having to fly through what seemed like 100 circles in the air with like a 60 second timelimit counting down, and I'm thinking to myself, are you serious??  I finally fly through the rings in time, only to find out that I have to beat two guys up before the original timer, which is still counting down, expires!  I shut it off and literally never played it again.

That game has been pretty notorious in the internet world since it came out. This game being the worst game of all time is one of the few things that everyone on the internet tends to agree on.

Impulse buy on my part after having found an N64 Spiderman game in the same store which I purchased and enjoyed playing.

There was a Superman Man of Steel game that came out on the first XBox that the clerk at Electronics Boutique actually advised me not to purchase because he said it was horrible.  He suggested that if I wanted a Superman game, I should instead get Shadow of Apokolips for Gamecube or PS2.  I took his word for it and was not dissappointed.

My worst game would have to be Splinter Cell double agent on the Wii. Played it for 15 minute and have never even touched it since. It was awfull.

rise of the robots, heart of darkness, magic: the gathering on pc and the worst of all: FFVIII. this is where the end of a great series began.

THe funny thing about Skyrim (and most Bethesda games) is that most people don't even do the story.  I'm playing through Skyrim again and while I'm maybe about 15 hours on my current save, I haven't gone and seen the greybeards yet.  The previous save where I spent maybe 50-60 hours, I barely got past the greybeards.

The only characters name I remember is Lydia because she constantly pisses me off (she gets in my way) and the only other NPC I remember is the Nightingale chick.  It's not that unbelievable to not like Skyrim for the story or characters.
