Forums - Microsoft - I propose using "Nextbox" as placeholder name when discussing next gen XBox system.

how about we call it the lastbox

cause clearly tvs will be capable of streamed gaming by then and there be no need for consoles.

I'm pretty sure people who use the term 720 don't actually believe that's going to be the official name for the console. It's just a place holder like the "Nextbox". If most are like me, then the term is also attached with a small hint of humor since it'd be so ridiculous of name. When I decide how to identify the "Next Xbox", my decision is usually based off of whether I already typed "Xbox" or not. If I have typed "Xbox", then I just add 720. If not, I may type NextBox. It really doesn't matter imo.

i think it will be 720.

Because Xbox 720 appeared in Real Steel.

That's the main reason.

I Am Legend had a Batman/Superman movie.  Still waiting...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

We have to wait until 2020 for Xbox 720.

You have to wait until the zombie apocalypse for Batman v. Superman.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

If you want to use a technically correct name, use Durango. Xbox Durango to clarify.

Btw don't get it, that thing is nothing but trouble

I was going to comment that the name is already trademarked by Rogers in Canada but you beat me too it. So we know for sure Microsoft will not be using that name.

I have one of their older PVRs and it works great so I have no need of this one. :)

I think it is just Durango as the working project name for it.

Who cares? We were calling the Vita the "NGP" and the "PSP2". We called the Gamecube "Dolphin" and we called the Wii "The Revolution". We called Kinect "Natal". At the end of the day, they were all just placeholder names and we knew we were talking about the successor of a previous console. No harm done.

Oh, and I called the next Xbox the Xbox Infinity almost two years ago.

Uses Windows 8. We are waiting for the reveal.

W8box.
