Brain Age is clearly a case of Duck Hunt/Tetris/Nintendogs

It had its time and place. That said, this is good numbers for that type of game. I mean, most of them probably don't reach 1k

I don't see how you can say that yet with only 2 days of sales.

Even with only two days of sales, it's obviously only a fraction of NSMB2.

Obviously, it's type of game that has a low debut but continues to sell consistently.

Brain Age 2 had a first week of over 400k. Unless this really is a groundbreaking game that redefines the series, I don't see it as another Brain Age. I still think Nintendo desperately needs one of those! Still buggles me that they haven't done something new!

Interestingly it sold exactly the same as the first game! 46.5 k according to VGC!

Very easily. You really think this kind of game can become a 5 million seller again? No chance. It's another err... age. Not that it won't do good, obviously.

While its performance is definitely poor for an established franchise, its sales are exactly the same as the first week of the first Brain Age on DS. Perhaps it can do something similar and establish this niche on the console as its predecessor did. That said, I, too, doubt that it'll quite reach the heights it did on DS, which makes it the second franchise along with Nintendogs that doesn't look to emulate its success on DS on the 3DS.

It's hard. The DS revolutionized in features. 3DS didn't. Actually, no one in the world found the next big thing after the "touch-generation".

These types of games are games most would probably play once in their lives. Plus the Brain training games have been milked to death (albeit not even close to the qualoty of Nintendo's) but still. Would be interesting if they could manipulate the 3D into the gameplay, that's the kind of game that the 3DS could really use.

It doesn't have to sell over 5 million, the first one didn't either. I just think it won't suffer the same fate as those games. It might end up lower than the previous entries, but high enough to be considered a success.

All those market things considered, this game is also way more difficult to sell.

Everybody likes a good simple math problem or some "say the color" game. But put people to go through memory stress and see how many will literally explode! Evolution in those type of games is hard to sell, because it becomes less confortable to play. I'm willing to try the game, but wow, just looking at those videos make my brain ache!

Agreed. It's tough for them. That said, one of the things I would've liked to see was the camera/AR implemented. Who knows, maybe they do have something in hand :P

That game was released right during the holiday season, and only a few months after the first one, so the base was already there. Not the case with Oni Training.

Holidays tend to have smaller FW as people buy games over the stretch of the week and not just weekends. So yeah. I think it's a strong FW, especially if digital sales are included, but the series ahs dwindled a bit. It may be resurged, but probably not like the first one

Nothing for 3DS next week worth noticing.

Vita has two games

This one:

(gotta love when people use 20 drawings to produce a 2 minute animation, lol)

And this one:

Prediction: Not charting/ 5k
