Rare is not same as it was during the N64 era, if they indeed make it back to Nintendo I don't think it will make much of a difference since all of the original developers were gone to other companies (I believe some of them at are Retro), but this give me the idea of Retro working on a Banjo-Kazooie game, that will be awesome!!

It would make no sense for Retro Studios to be deep in development of a game they might not get rights to.

For that alone i think this one's fake. Plus Rare's still got a lot of strategic value to MS, being used for things other than games, that Microsoft could not easily replicate

Please get Rare away from Microsoft. Nintendo...please. The way Microsoft has dealt with Rare I wouldnt give Microsoft four hundred million for it. If Nintendo bought Rare as a whole instead of just the IP I would buy a Wii U in no time. Rare+ Retro Games= Closest to former glory that its ever going to get. They could also get Namco Bandai to make Killer Instinct.

If Nintendo gets the purchase it would make sense bringing them back. I can see Rare coming back to some semblence of themselves with Nintendo, plus Nintendo used to oversee Rare. They arent slouches when games are produced. 

I loved Rare and their games back in the day, but seriously, Nintendo doesn't need another Jump n Run. Also, when Nintendo sold Rare to Microsoft, they pretty much scammed MS big time. I really don't want Microsoft to have a chance of payback.

dont forget some of the other franchises like Blast Corps, Killer Instinct, battletoads, jet force gemini, perfect dark, which were all big names on the nintendo platforms.

strangely enough goldeneye could finally be ported to 3DS also (since Micrososft and Nintnedo would not disagree anymore about it haha)

It would be nice if they could just buy the franchises of them at least.

Does it make sense for Micrososft to sell?

I think so as they haven't utlised these franchise (except for perfect dark) and have no real benefit to them directly.

Next statement is outside the square and a bit crazy.

Also by giving Nintendo a few franchises that Nintendo needs it may potentially help Micrososft in the long run with the fight against Sony as many people would love to see these franchises revived so perhaps instead of a PS4, a WiiU might become peoples second choice console with these extra revived additions being the deciding factor which to purchase.

I sincerely doubt Nintendo is goign ot be buying Rare. I'd call it outside the realm of reasonable possibility.

I'd be very happy if Nintendo bought the rights to Banjo and a few more Rareware IPs, but that's not very likely to happen either, and even if it did I'm not sure that Nintendo has the particular touch necessary to revive those properties. I mean, if it happened I'd be ecstatic, I'm just not sure how it would.

Most of the people from the old RARE are gone, so buying the studio for what MS would charge ($400m+) I wouldn't. The IPs on the other hand..... Oh please Nintendo do it. Conker, Banjo and Kazooie, Jet Force Gemini and Blast Corps need to come home to where they belong on a Nintendo console.
