To be somewhat expected for a system on it's seventh year. It will still sell well for this holiday but the gas is definitely starting to run out. One last decent Christmas before Durango won't be to shabby in the grand scheme of things.

That's not looking good for them even if they over shipped during Christmas.

The 360 still has 1.5 years ahead before the nextbox arrives (assuming a Christmas 2013 launch). As Carl said, it is too soon to let it die.

They need to do a price cut for holidays.

The thing is the X360 still has to go through this holiday and most of 2013. During this period, the Wii U will just be releasing and the PS3 will be riding off.the Slim / price cut. Surely, Microsoft doesn't want to give tons of momentum to their opponents during this time.

Given what they said about EDD revenue increasing I expect the next box to release ealier than people expect.

But in the short term I expect a hefty price cut this holiday.

I remember the predictions for the last PS3 slim, they were massively over optimistic. 

if i remember correctly, most didnt even think ps3 would break 300k on the first week but didnt it do like over 500k? or even more than that. your in for a nasty surprise later this year kow.

What do you mean by earlier?

Announcing it during the GDC with a full reveal at E3 only to launch it soon after? or

Announcing  and revealing at E3 to launch it in September or early October?

Overestimated WW sales...But underestimated the Japan sales...   That is what I remember..  Slim + FFXIII was a nice combo..but for the rest of the world it was rather meh...

I'm no expert on 'sustained boosts' but I'd say a force that droped the PS360 gap from 8m nearly to under 3m in a matter of months counts as a sustained boost.

And then it fell back rapidly. predictions at the time were for a long and sustained boost. Didn't happen.  Go on then, 1st week prediction?

stop exaggerating. i remember the summer before the slim, ps3 was selling under 100k worldwide. your telling me it dropped back to those levels after the $299 slim?
