wow no NSMB2 numbers yet!

What's your excuse now Kops?! What is?!

;_;

It releases 19th August :P Well to be fair, NSMB opened up at 150k FW, so around 70-80k preorders for it bakc then! That said, it held on pretty firm for the next 10 weeks. NSMB 2 should have better FW numbers since the market has changed a bit (2D Mario wasn't a sure big thing back then), but i think downloads have to be taken to account more than Japan. But like i said, still 1 month left!

If these numbers are accurate, I can see Halo 4 doing a 2 million first week, which would be just awesome. That should but won't silent the haters saying Halo is on its way out. It is funny, that they say the same thing about Gears, Fable and CoD.

2 million first week? That would be a disappointment, surely, for a mainline Halo title at this point.

huh, I was so sure someone posted Halo: Reach opened with a 1.6 million units in the US.
Make it 2.6 million, which would be a nice 8.5% increase over Reach, which did amazingly well.

No the 1.6 million figure was the amount of pre-orders that Halo: Reach had in the US right before it released. it had a 2.4 million FW in the US.

Last week before MW3 overtakes Halo 4 pre-orders.

I predict, first week a little over 3 million in the U.S. for Halo 4.

I preordered Bioshock on PS3 a couple weeks ago...

 Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

the thing is halo reach launched in september. Halo 4 is launching in November during the middle of the holidays. If its opening is not significantly higher than halo reach's it won't be able to reach halo reach's lifetime numbers.

As for the preorders compared to halo reach they are not suprising. Halo 4 already got its e3 boost a month and a half ago, while halo reach is just starting to get its e3 boost now on the alligned chart. The big factor will be the later preorders.

Black Ops II is gearing up at least the XboX version.
No God of War, no Resident Evil, no Far Cry 3 but the biggest surprise for me is the absence of Medal of Honor in the top 20 :S.
