I don't really think wonderful graphics can hurt either...
Come on Ninty you gotta impress me with something or I ain't getting Wii U

He never said good graphics are a bad thing. He just wants to focus on the gaming "experience" more. (Like usual.) You'll get your nice graphics.

It is safe to say that the Wii U will be graphically in comparisson to PS3 and Xbox 360 what Wii was for PS2 and the original Xbox.
If the Wii U was really powerful there is no reason to Nintendo hide this information at this time.
Graphics are important Nintendo, and this time I think this innovation will not be enough to capture the casuals.
And, there is some genres that needs good graphics to be good, like racing games, especially the simulation.
The formula was very suscessful for the Wii, but for the Wii U, would be really better if Nintendo put more effort in graphics. The graphics are responsible for state of the Wii is now. Now any consumer of games has a HD TV.

Fanatismo não leva a nada, apenas a colecionar antipatias.

Collection: Telejogo Ford-Philco, Dactar, TV Game 2600, Master System (2x), Master System Portable, NES, Dynavision 3, Mega Drive 3 (2x - Tectoy and Show Do Milhao Edition), Genesis 3, Genesis Arcade Motion, MD Play, SNES (2x), Super Famicom, Neo Geo CD, 3DO, Saturn, Playstation, Nintendo 64 (2x), Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Game Cube, Xbox, Zeebo, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 (Kinect Bundle), Wii (2x - White and Red), Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS Lite, 3DS, Vita, Wii U, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Around 800 games. Preferred Generation: 16 bits.

This maybe off topic but why will the WiiU be screwed if Orbis and Durango are incredibly powerful? Won't that mean they'll get off to an bad start like the PS3 and 360. Which would leave the WiiU with an userbase bigger than both combined, which the Wii never pulled off.

it is pretty simple, a game isn't good with bad gameplay, let the graphics be as good as possible, but better graphics for the same game improve the experience. it is a very simple formula. walk through a game with great gameplay and average graphics and you will like it a lot. make the same game with awesome graphics and you will like it even more. as better the graphics as more you will enjoy the world you are playing in.

the difference for me in a game with awesome graphcis or only average graphics is, for the game with average graphics i need 10 hours to play through, the game with awesome graphics need some more hours for me because i really enjoy the world and i will stand still plenty of times just to look at something because it looks so wonderful. if i see average fire in a game, i don't care, if i see the best fire i have ever seen in agame, i will stand there and look at it few minutes just because it looks so unbelievable great.

when i first played uncharted 2 i was wasting hours just to look at the environments. if the game wouldn't have had these graphics i wouldn't have done that. i wouldn't have thought "wow just look at this small mountain village, it is sooo wonderful"

I agree with you on how wonderful the environments in Uncharted 2 were. I did stop and panned the camera to watch the mountains but at the same time I don't think that if that panorama had twice the details I would have watched it any longer than with the current amount of details. That's what makes me think that a graphical boost won't matter that much to me in future generations.

Signature goes here!

I like detailed scenery in games. You know what I like even more? Actually being able to go to the scenery and find out that it isn't just a pretty skybox.

Right. Like in Xenoblade, which largely moots the point being made since Xenoblade is on Wii

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Right. Like in Xenoblade, which largely moots the point being made since Xenoblade is on Wii

or Just Cause 2 which has a bigger draw distance and looks much better.

No, not really. Just Cause 2 uses scaling where everything in the distance was scaled down until you got within a certain range. Xenoblade had no textures pop in or out when you were at different distances.

to be honest thread should be titled:

Nintendo: Next gen is about "survival."

Considering the wii is being outsold by the PSP....nintendo shouldn't be proclaiming anything, sell some consoles then you can speak *LauGHs*
