Forums - Nintendo - Shin’en Multimedia: ‘Wii U Is Very Easy To Develop For & Doesn’t Have Many Limitations

YES! Shin'en was my favorite 3rd party dev for the Wii. They pulled off better graphics in Wiiware than 99% of third parties did in their retail games. Just look at there making of Jett rocket page to show how much effort to put into it.

Shin’en Multimedia’s Manfred Linzner was recently interviewed by SuperPhillip. During the interview, Linzner revealed that Shin’en Multimedia is almost finished developing a new game for Wii U. Linzner is impressed with the Wii U console and claims that it’s very easy to develop for. According to Linzner, compared to other current generation platforms, the Wii U does not have many limitations. Lizner also revealed that Nintendo doesn’t really put restrictions on developers who bring their content to the eShop.

“We have a few Wii U devkits since quite some time. We even almost finished our first Wii U game. The kits exceeded our expectations in every way and we still learn how to get the best performance out of it. A good thing about Wii U is that it’s very easy to develop for. You don’t have so many limitations like on the other current gen platforms. For us the Wii U is the perfect platform with enough horsepower for many years to come. I think we currently only tapped 20% of its potential and our first game already looks and plays brilliant.”

“Digital is of course the future. We love that Nintendo doesn’t really put restrictions on the developers what they want to do in the eShop. For us as a small developer it’s like a dream come true to be able to design whatever we want and to bring it quickly to the players.”

They are even doing the same on the 3DS

Are you referring to the first image which is identified in the text immediately below it, or any of the three trailers which have the title of the game in the title of the clip?

I wouldn't expect Shin'en to have trouble with the Wii U, seeing as they're one of maybe three developers who learned how to properly use the TEV.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event."  — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

Look at that, first Wii U developer that has tried to guesstimate their use of hardware.

Shin'en are quite good developers, just hate it when people start dropping percentages.

I'm surprised they are working with the Wii U. They seem to only focus on maxing out the lower ended systems. I thought they would stay on the 3DS for a while. This should be interesting to see.

A nintendo developer doing damage control, lol... Whether the system is good or bad, the fact that EVERY week we have articles about "lack of" or "subpar" technical prowess surrounding the wiiu, is not a good sign.

SO FAR the news, the stock, and momentum has not been in nintendo's favor. I think the wiiu will be somewhat
of a final stand, shaping whatever future nintendo hopes to sustain. Smartphone Revolution has changed everything.

Doesn't fit at all. Shin'en work for themselves. They are no Nintendo devs. Nintendo doesn't own them nor pay them for their realeasing on their systems. They hold no special place with the company. Thats something that only happens with Sony and Microsoft, not Nitnendo. Nintendo has said their piece on the matter they are sticking to it.

There is no lack of or subpar technical prowess.

No substancial evidence has ever apparead stating that the Wii U was subpar. There are only anonymous people who claim to be devs who not only make claims that have no technical details or proof attached, but also state things that all visible facts completely refute. The existence of articles and their validity are two different things.

They are more than likely fanboys posing as developers who are making claims that people want to be true and thus report/accept, and then there are real developers who are saying the exact opposite backed with technical and visible proof.

There is no bleak outlook for anyone aside for Nitendo haters who want the negative rumors to be true and thus accept them as fact while promoting them everywhere they can despite the lack of anything factual.
