Sell it on eBay, save yourself the worry of GameStop and sending it to Nintendo.

I had this happen to be with a PSP 1000. I ended up just giving it to my little sister, but could have sold it on eBay. Got my PSP 3000 on the way (Vita sucks).

Why are you so fixated on Gamestop? Try ebay or craigslist, you will get a lot more money.

My family has 8 DS systems. 1 phat (silver), 4 lite (3 white, 1 pink), and 3 dsi (2 black, 1 blue). As for why, I have 3 other siblings. lol

On topic: I'm sure they would only give you about $20 credit or even less for it. Why not just keep it to play your GBA games since the 3DS can't play GBA cartriges? Or just put it in its box and let it sit for 10 years; it will be worth more money then. (Maybe :P)

I think I will just sell it on Ebay or something. It would probably be less of a hassle.

Seriously though SELL on ebay or something or to a friend, Gamestop is such a giant ripoff when it comes to trading in games and consoles.

Sell it on eBay, dude.

Judging by all the posts here, it became clear to me that you should be selling it on eBay... :P

Ok, so I took you peoples' advice and put it up on ebay today. And it sold, 50 dollars.

i made an Ebay account to sell it, and I thought I might as well include some games that I don't play anymore. 

Since I was a new user, I thought I should put it at an attractive price. I saw others going for anywhere from 30-50 dollars for just the system. 

I put the starting bid at 35 dollars, and had a buy it now option for 50, I'd be pretty satisfied with selling the bundle for 50 dollars. It sold within half an hour. Now that I think about it, I probably could have gotten away with selling it for more, but I'm happy with 50 dollars, so that's fine.

Currently I'm awaiting payment for it, and then I plan to ship it once they pay for it.

So, did I do a good job? Did I sell it for a decent price?

If I put a buy it now option, I usually do it a good bit higher than what I want to sale it for.

So starting at $35 was good and you were expecting up to $50, so I'd actually put something like $70. Problem is if you priced out those games you included in the bundle, you actually sold it for a pretty low price. Not a bad thing for your first sale though. A lot of people sale their first things a little low. For one you have to build a reputation and for two, you generally just don't know.

For your next sale at some point in the future, be sure to continue your pre-sale investigation to include any individual price for each item in your bundle and take into account the shipping costs as well as ebay/paypal fees associated with the sale.

But for $50 for a DSLite and some quality games... not bad at all for your very first time.

Couple other pointers.

Don't ship item until AFTER you have received FULL payment via paypal.
Ship with tracking number and put tracking number into Ebay for proof.
Don't do feedback until buyer does.
Make sure to send email after auction end, after payment, at shipping, and after they receive to remind them for feedback.
Lastly, always be 100% honest in your ebay sales. That always goes a long way.
