Thank You for saying that.

A lot of people don't see themselves doing it they just blame other people.

This is an ideal example for spamming.

Another example is this post I found in the Halo 2 Anniversary thread this morning.

Huh?

Also, your second link didn't lead to a Halo 2 Anniversary thread.

Postception o.O and damn you for changing the logout link!1

Or rather - spamception. My post further exemplifies what constitutes to spam through its planned effect. You see, the initial added nothing to the discussion of this topic directly making it a spam post. Keyword: directly. Furthermore, what it has shown is that it's not so much a spam post in and of itself that is the problem, but the ripple it creates. The 3 following posts in this thread continued down the stream of pointless posts which had nothing to do with the topic at hand following my initial spam post.

This, my friends, is an ideal example of spam.

Well played, sir, well played.

See, I asked you about it because I wanted to know how it was related to OP. So my question is, was it your original spampost that was spam only, or are you also bundling in there the three follow-ups? If so, you can't consider mine because I was asking related to OP how yours was related to OP.

OPception.

I suppose you're referring to the "Huh?" part of your post? That doesn't really get come across as you asking me how it's related to the OP simply through text. The connection in your head between what is written and what is meant cannot simply be transferred through text so non-descriptive. Complete the thought or it just appears as spam.

And as I've just explained, my entire intent was to make an example of what many people are considering spam as well as also creating an example of why people have a problem with it. In a way, my spam post was more on topic than a lot of other posts in this thread. As a result of my spam post, more people posted seemingly pointless posts in order to ask for further explanation or to point out something mundane. This is what happens when you don't "Complete the thought". Now that I'm repeating my explanation I feel like this post is spam as well. I don't feel any further explanation will be warranted here so please direct further questions to my message box or wall.

Use my description above to figure out what posts I considered spam and which not. My definition of spam will remain my definition and I mean not to enforce it on others as it is simply that; my definition. I will ignore posts reflecting my definition of spam as best I can and try not to make posts myself that comply to this definition. That's all I can and will do.

P.S. I intentionally speak in rhetoric. Those who get it get a kick; those who don't get a different kind.

I find the rhetoric boring honestly.

As for italics, I was referring to this -> "Also, your second link didn't lead to a Halo 2 Anniversary thread."

The "huh?" was just there to say that I didn't get it, but deep down I new you were purposefully being unclear. So, giving you the benefit of the doubt, I asked.

You prove something here, that you're unwilling to engage in the conversation because you consider it "mundane".

This goes to prove that alot of people here consider spam posts and topics that are actually tied to OP because they are unwilling to engage in conversation for whatever "Moral Principle" they may adhere to.

This kind of judgemental nature is what causes mods to go "Locked this thread for lack of substance", because it's their opinion on what is useful and what is not, and alot of it is based off of a bias predisposition to consider what some say useless, and what others say not, regardless of the nature of what they're saying.

So yes, in fact, your post was spam, and did go to show that some of us care enough to quote you and ask you to clarify, and you go so far as to judge that as spam, hence also proving the judgemental nature of certain posters.

A+

Is it not the point of forums to ask questions and discuss things? Where should the line be drawn?

I think this thread goes to prove two things:

1) Some posts are really spammy and don't add anything to the discussion and

2) Some members are just too judgemental.
