Hmm. Spam.

Spam threads should be in.an off topic section. "Game Threads" or something. These threads shouldnt appear in the Hot Topics and posts in said threads shouldnt count towards post count.

They clutter up the forums and people get an e-peen from post count. You know who you are.

Id also say spam is talking in a topic, about something not the topic. You know who you are.

k, but the hot topic thing is a policy change at the admin level though. We can't help if NSFW, off-topic and vote threads are on the hot-topics if the devs didn't split that up properly.

Just sayin', not hatin' :]

Also, when a large majority of your posts are shallow or 'filler' posts. Meaning you're not giving any genuine thought into the topic, and your just posting the first thing that comes to your head. These posts arent made because you want to engage discussion. You're simply posting for the sake of posting. Also, when your posts looks like they were directed solely at the title. They don't seem to respond to the OP or the posts in the thread. It's okay to do this occasionally, and it's normal actually, but when the vast majority of your posts are like this, then you are a spammer.

I think you just described that NinPie kid. So, I'll agree with this.

I dont have a problem with Off Topic appearing in my Hot Topics. What I was saying was, stupid little person above threads or the voting threads going into a subforum. This said subforum would negate post count and not clutter the forums further.

I'd love this too but unfortunately that would require some level of coding so it's never going to happen.

I did say "NSFW, off-topic and vote threads". It's up to whoever to decide ultimately what is in and what is out of the souped up  hot-topics, but I understood what you meant.

Spam is fairly straightforward. A spam thread is one which inspires pointless discussion, where no-one is really presenting original thought or insight, talking for the sake of talking, filling space to just fill space. It is not a joke, an observation, news, a forum, or a debate.

When you post in a topic to say you have nothing to add to the topic or when you post more than 10,000 times in a year.

That's a little harsh Trucks. You can post 10'000 times in a year and still have some great posts and discussion.

I would really like to ask something:

Why do some of you guys seriously have such a problem with spam and such? I'm sure all of you have done it before. (Actually I know you've all done it before.) Many big members on this site post 3-8 word posts yet never get labeled a spammer. I personally have no problem with them doing that, what I have a problem with is when they go and call other people spammers or just say they don't like spamming yet technically they do it to.

It makes no sense to me. And I'm not trying to be mean, I just feel like it needed to be said.
