Look at how many people was killed in the first and second World war and not because of religions

Look at 100millions  indigenous peoples killed in America and they die not because of the religions

Look  at how many  indigenous peoples  was killed in Australia and the cause is not religions.

Violence has nothing to do  with religions even if a people say he killed innocent persons becauses of his religions he's a liar terrorism has no religion.

Japan at least was acting as much on a religious basis in the second world war as anything else. Emperor Hirohito was the living descendent of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu Omikami and his word was as to law for the people, who would build the reach of the state to accentuate his glory and the glory of the imperial family.

Aside from that, however,  you've got things like the Crusades, or the Israel-Palestine affair, various purges between Buddhism and Taoism across Chinese history. The issue is that religion usually isn't the root cause, but people merely utilizing religion for more realistic ends, or at the very least as a mere tribal indicator.

Don't forget about the Ottoman Empire declaring jihad during WW1 and attempt by the Nazi's in WW2 to invoke jihad.   I believe the Middle Ages shows religion at it's worst.  The inquisitions, medieval antisemitism, and crusades show how stupid religion can become.

In Islam you have the choice of having the religion you like but if you dicide to convert you can't return to your initial religion.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

That's a big problem.

It's really hard to pity them when their religion in certain areas of the world is a ruthless source of legalistic oppression.

I don't think so. Assuming the story is true (Pullus' post makes me wonder), I don't feel less sorry for these people being murdered just because other people do bad things in the name of Islam any more than I hold it against all Muslims just because hatmoza is one of them. Okay, well, I do blame them for that...

According to that way of thinking, joining Islam is like joining the mob and once you're in, you can never get out. And if you happen to be born a Muslim, then you really don't have a choice, do you?

:) as long as you cut out the rest for giggles, it's good. I understand they're just people, I just find it hard not to associate the crimes of others who hold the same name against other faithfuls. That's somethin I have to work on. But you have to admit that the behaviors of some do not help make that dichotomy more boldly.

Edited by MontanaHatchet: Not appropriate

I dont know much about the situation in burma, other that a state of amergency was decleared there recently(or my memory betrays me?), so when you use a fake picture of child (to elicit emotional responce) I am hasitent to say anything on this case (either you or the site you posted it from has an agenda) before I read more about it.

Still, my first thought is that I highlly doubt that muslims are the victims in this conflict(not this specific case), I know that esectarian tensions between muslims and other are strong in this part of the world as well, for example in bordering Thailand and lets say that usually its not muslims that suffer from intolerance.

Regardless I do wish well on those who suffer. :( Whether muslim, christian or buddhist or anything else.

Humans will never be able to all get along. Religion only helps divide. Greed, ignorance, and nationalism helps fuel the rest.

Greed is good. I'd say jelousy is more the problem.

Greed is not good. Even Adam Smith believed that responsibility and benevolence was necessary amongst actors in the capitalistic market, and looked on in horror in his later years at what his doctrine had been warped into. I imagine he's turned over in his grave several times with all the social darwinists and big-finance criminals running rampant out there under Gordon Gekko's misguided (and misquoted) credo.

I think Marks was being sarcastic.

Nope, wasn't sarcastic there. Greed leads to innovation, wealth, job creation, etc. Henry Ford didn't revolutionize the production line to be a nice guy.

last i heard, it was the muslims who had started murdering the buddhists here...so sorry for not having any sympathy when it gets turned around on them
