Greed is good. I'd say jelousy is more the problem. 

Greed is not good. Even Adam Smith believed that responsibility and benevolence was necessary amongst actors in the capitalistic market, and looked on in horror in his later years at what his doctrine had been warped into. I imagine he's turned over in his grave several times with all the social darwinists and big-finance criminals running rampant out there under Gordon Gekko's misguided (and misquoted) credo.

Nope, wasn't sarcastic there. Greed leads to innovation, wealth, job creation, etc. Henry Ford didn't revolutionize the production line to be a nice guy. 


You are right that greed can be good.  However, greed usually breeds jealousy.  If you are being greedy and accumulate massive wealth then there will be people jealous of that.  The two go hand in hand for me.  Jealousy is perhaps worse but greed can be just as bad.
