Will Batman/Bruce Wayne Die?

Batman Lives, Bruce Wayne Dies 11 24.44%

They Both Die 6 13.33%

They Both Live 9 20.00%

Here, good sir, let me he... 7 15.56%

Total:45

I say Selina Kyle becomes Batman. It's the logical conclusion to make from these facts. Obviously.

I saw a commercial for The Dark Knight Rises action figures--one of them was a Batman with a fully covered face. In fact, there were multiple versions of a traditional looking Batman, multiple versions of Bane, and multiple versions of a Batman with a full faced mask.

This could just be another version of Bruce Wayne/Batman or it could just be something to sell toys or it could be Azrael/Batman!!

Could this be the movie version of Batman's replacement?

Gah!  Spoilers!

Not on your part, mind you, but on whoever released these ads.  This is why, when Empire Strikes Back came out, and they released all the action figures before the movie, they held back the Yoda one until after the movie came out so as not to ruin the surprise :(

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

First 30 minutes: Bruce getting back into the game

I think Bruce may die, but not entirely convinced yet. I think Ra's will make an appearance as Bane is part of the League of Shadows.

I think Batman will be injured in this movie. He is seen limping at the end of TDK so when he fights Bane at first he gets beat down but when he gets a suit that can cover up his injury he finally beats Bane.

Opening weekend domestic: $170 million

Why? Simple: It's not released in 3D. A lot of Avengers gross came from 3D, if it wasn't for 3D Avengers would have grossed around $160-$175 million. And TDK adjusted for inflation would have an opening weekend of $175 million. This movie is not as anticipated as TDK.

Total domestic: $500 million

Batman Begins had a multiplier of 3.7 and TDK had a multiplier of 3.3, and I think this one will follow the trend and have a multiplier of about 3.0.

Total world wide: $950 million

Batman movies always gross a little less overseas than the USA.

of course I could be wrong and the anticipation could be greater than I think but the lack of the Joker will hurt this movie box office wise. Bane is not as appealing as say the Riddler would have been. This movie WILL kick butt though!!!!!

Wrong thread for box office predictions, sir :P

Also, read my first post--the Riddler may be putting in an appearance after all

Oops! I thought it was strange too when I saw two TDKR prediction threads haha. I'll fix it LOL.

IGN's got a new making-of featurette: http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/07/09/the-dark-knight-rises-biggest-2d-opening-of-all-time

Some of the things we've been saying in this thread have essentially been confirmed.

Well, that's enough for me.  I like guessing but I don't want to be sure what's going to happen.  I'm tapping out of this thread until after the movie!!

I haven't seen it. I had to work. I'm gonna take my GF to see it tomorrow, though. Anyway, for those of you that DID see it, how did we do on our predictions?

*I'm not even going to look at this thread until tomorrow night!*

Well, I was pretty much wrong.  I predicted that Bruce Wayne dies and Batman lives--the exact opposite is true.  Batman dies... and Bruce Wayne MARRIES CATWOMAN!

However, I was partially right in that Bruce's Batman dies, but the legacy of Batman lives on.  Quite literally, in fact--your Azrael prediction wasn't quite correct, but John Blake... well... let's just say that Nolan may have been hiding something when he said he wasn't making any more 'Batman' movies.  After all, he didn't say anything about a Robin movie, did he ?

My Riddler prediction was dead wrong, though :(
