Why? Simple: It's not released in 3D. A lot of Avengers gross came from 3D, if it wasn't for 3D Avengers would have grossed around $160-$175 million. And TDK adjusted for inflation would have an opening weekend of $175 million. This movie is not as anticipated as TDK.

Batman Begins had a multiplier of 3.7 and TDK had a multiplier of 3.3, and I think this one will follow the trend and have a multiplier of about 3.0.

Batman movies always gross a little less overseas than the USA.

of course I could be wrong and the anticipation could be greater than I think but the lack of the Joker will hurt this movie box office wise. Bane is not as appealing as say the Riddler would have been. This movie WILL kick butt though!!!!!
