Let's not get ahead of ourselves yet, we don't know how developed their online network is, I mean it's stil using friend-codes, I know it's been updated, but still... friend codes? Why? Iwatamelon himself said they wouldn't try to compete with PSN/XBL as their too far ahea..., which is a BS statement, but that's for another thread.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Nintendo's online network. You said streaming is the last bridge for Nintendo to cross, I disagree.

Here's the Iwata comment: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/353614/iwata-xbox-live-and-psn-are-too-far-developed-for-nintendo-to-catch-up/

And here's the thing about friend codes: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/06/13/wii-u-will-feature-simplified-friend-codes

Iwata comment: That's just another way for Nintendo to say "We're going our own way". If you disagree, name what they need to have to rival PS/XB other than fancy non-gaming extras.

Friend codes thread (Addressed): http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=144366

Well right now it would need a good store, which it may be getting, and plenty of services like netflix, which it seems to be getting, but it's missing simple features (correct me if I'm wrong) like an achievement system, we don't know much about personalisation, how much content the store will hold, it STILL lacks gamertags, and uses friend codes instead. You could call that "going our own way," but it's clearly not as good a system as XBL/PSN has for friends, and it's so simple. Keep in mnd that these are the features of current gen consoles, Orbis/Durango will definitely come with massive update to their existing service, while the Wii U is barely getting up to speed with the services on their predecessors. That doesn't bother you? (So I'm not really sure what it needs, but I know for sure that it doesn't have them since all that's been announced for it are features the PS360 has, while their successes will, like I said, get a massive update.)

The doc being removed by Microsoft laywers does not equal the doc being legit. (Even though it could have been in 2010).

You should change your thread title.

Yes, it does.

Oh it's you again, how delightfull.

Move your cursor down a bunch of px and you'll see my addition, but then again I doubt you even quoted because you actually care.

1) While MS asking for the removal does suggest its legit, it does not prove it.
2) However, its yearly plans describe SmartGlass perfectly and this doc existed well before E3. To me, that and other details of the document prove its legit.
3) Regardless of that, you can't assume 100% of everything in there is exactly what we'll see. Plans change over time and this was created in 2010.
4) Some details are intentionally vague, like CPU and GPU and other 720 configurations. $299 was a target price and will like change as final hardware details are decided upon.

6-8 ARM cpu's :/

Unless ARM have processors i don't know about they gna need one with more than 6-8 cores.

Fair enough, here is the data:

The e-shop is good, could be better, and the WiiU one will be better than that. (Check)

Netflix was showcased at E3, hulu already confirmed.

WiiU achievement system has already been confirmed.

Gamertags is just a term, as friend codes. It's been addressed in a vgchartz thread that they will likely be what you're looking for. "Going our own way" was not meant with regards to this.

As for orbirango, your guess is as good as mine. This far, Nintendo doesn't need streaming games, DL is already good, streaming will be a plus and can come in an update. If Netflix is possible as an app, so is streamed gaming.

What about support? Not really related to how good the actual store is in terms of aesthetics and navigation, but I'm curious

I did say it had these features

The thing is, these are all current gen features. And it'll be competing with Orbis/Durango, both will have massively updated networks, so by the time these 2 come out it'll once again be behind by a huge margin.

And sure, the service can eventually be updated, but this means they'll be late to the party and the other 2 will also be updating, and will always be ahead.

Non-issue then. Let's move to the next one, k?

What do you mean? The Wii has lots of e-games, and the 3DS even more. You mean Wii/DSi/3DS ware? It's okay I guess. But that's not in Ninty's control right? 1st party offerings are okay, and 3DS has some solid virtual content like Dillon's, VVVV, and pushmo. That's a taste thing though, so I can't say 100%, but the quality is there in the 3DS e-shop e-ware.

You're speculating. Also, rule of thumb is the one with the least knowledge and strength learns/grows the fastest. The higher your level, the slower your evolution pace. It's the same here. Nint has lots to learn, and will catch up relatively quickly, I disagree with Mr. Melon on that.

By the way, is that Vin Diesel in your avi? :D

Next e3 is going to be acorns, with some serious reveals from both Sony and Microsoft I'm sure.

VG247

A source close to CVG has told the site the leaked, 56-page Microsoft manifesto for the next Xbox 360 is genuine.

The site, after having conversed with various publishing executives, 3D technology firms, and developers regarding details in the document, has broken down every single page and entry in to a feature you can access here.

Since the Microsoft presentation in question was released in 2010, it’s worth nothing that some of the details may have been revised, and some, such as SmartGlass are redundant.

In response to the matter, MS told CVG the following: “We understand there is great interest and anticipation for what comes next for Xbox and we are lucky to have customers who are so passionate about the platform.

“Today, there has never been a better time to own an Xbox 360 console. We have found new ways to extend the console lifecycle by introducing controller-free experiences with Kinect and we’ve re-invented the console with a new dashboard and new entertainment content partnerships. We are continually thinking about the future of the platform and when we have something to share, we will.”

A reference to a person named Todd was referenced in the presentation, which CVG has attributed to Todd Holmdahl, the corporate VP of the Xbox Product Group at Microsoft. Holmdahl has been responsible for hardware development on Xbox for eight years.

The documents in question gained more notoriety on June 15 after having been floating around the net for a few weeks, before Microsoft’s lawyers issued take-down orders to various websiteswhich were hosting the presentation.
