Forums - Nintendo - Everyone complaining about the lack of 3DSXL second circle pad

Even without a second analog this device is going sky-high because the majority prefer bigger screen than second analog...

You don't need a second circle pad. Resident Evil: Revelations shows that you can have perfect controls with only one circle pad.

The second circle pad is only for lazy developers and for the gamers that are used to their old gamepad controls and to conservative to change.

I'm fine with them not including the second Analog Stick. I don't really like Dual Analog anyway, the touch screen is a fine replacement, Kid Icarus proves that, it's controls were great considering all the criticism.

personally I would rather not have it. For the simple reason the CPP add extra shoulder buttons.

Now I know the CPP will not fit the XL model. However Nikon have also relased their own version of extra circle pad that has additional external battery for the 3DS and fits liek a GLOVE on the handheld.

I would like to see them do the same for the 3DS XL. Imagine how much additional battery can be added with the XL size. 10hours worth of game play on top of the original perhaps? Not to mention the benefit of the extra shoulder buttons.

Where would the second circle pad go? Would it replace the position of the ABXY buttons? If so, that's a terrible idea

What's the point of a second circle pad? Games that work best on handhelds need buttons, not analogue sticks

Presumably you're the same people that complained at Nintendo for dropping the price- how do you think people will feel if the new 3DS basically made there's obsolete, instead of just being larger?

Considering nintendo themselves were forced to make a prepherial that adds a second analog stick for a couple of games, yes... the updated version should have had the second analog stick built in... I could understand if only one game made use of it, but there are a few and there will be more in the future.

Are you kidding me. That is an awful argument... Yes console redesigns should be a significant improvement that makes the previous version seem obsolete... And nintendo has even done that before. Gameboy advance sp made the gameboy advance completely obsolete in terms of design. The nintendo dsi had games with features that you couldn't access on the ds lite and vanilla ds. So yes early 3ds owners get to enjoy their handheld earlier while the people who waited or want to buy another one later on shouldn't get a gimped product.

Whats next, are you going to complaign if the 3dsXL doesn't have the same design flaw as the 3ds that causes the lower screen to scratch the upper screen because fixing that is unfair for previous 3ds owners...

There are literally zero 3DS games that have the second circle pad as a required method of control. It is optional in every single game that uses it. All five of them.

don't know, but first thing i read on a site of a german gaming magazine was "why no second circle nintendo" and they explained that the 3ds with an extra circle pad pro you can buy (i have no clue what this is) is much better for some games and it's even more bad that that circle pad pro doesn't work with the 3dsxl. i have no clue what they were talking about so yeah, i just read it.

They could have just aligned the buttons the same way the WiiU is set up.

I think that the sales of Circle Pad was so low, that it showed minimum demand on second circle aside from game forums and journalist... It was so low, that they wasn't even bothering adding it to LL.

Lets say they did decide to put the extra pad in. Where would they add the extra shoulder buttons found on the CPP that work in RE: R?
