They announe an XL, not a lite?

Battery?

Extra stick?

WTF are they doing?

It is lighter.

The battery is longer

The needed extra stick is there. I.E one is fine.

They're doing the right thing.

But one stick is not fine. How can the 3DS become the new home of Monster Hunter when you need that awkward add on?

The old 3DS model's battery is atrocious, why is that not being fixed for the old one?

One stick is fine. The PSP managed it just fine, and if you need two, the option's always there for the CPPro, which, lest we forget, also includes 2 additional buttons (and where would those go?)

Dunno why they aren't changing the battery. But 4 hours isn't terrible. A cost thing?

Wow awesome thread.a dog on the street would tell you that a second circle pad would be excellent and cost nintemdo less than 50 cent to put on. Third party multiplats wont be on the 3ds like assassins creed, battlefield and cod becauss it wont play well. Just look at kid icarus, a disaster to control. So much so you got a shitty plastic stand to.play it properly. It is this blind fanboy defense bull which is pathetic.

Anyone who thinks that playing assassins creed, battleifeld and CoD on 3DS - 2nd circle pad or not - would be a great experience is totally wrong anyway. 3DS isn't about those games, and I'm very happy about that.

so screw those people who want to play those games on the go?? Nice attitude you have there, glad you dont work for no game companies. What is the 3ds about then??

It's about handheld games

WTF are handheld games?? thats such an open ended answer, leads me to believe you dont really know

Yep. Fuck 'em.

As you like to say about people wanting third party games on Wii, if the game isn't there... tough shit. Your whining is irrelevant.

Handhelds have never, ever been about games like Call of Duty. And I hope they never will be.

the difference between Wii and 3ds is that there are three other viable options for WII, get PS360 or PC. What about 3ds, what are the other options?? Vita i guess, but it aint looking great. Funny how people were praising MGS, RE and such coming to 3ds and all of a sudden they dont want them??? Please.

well let the record show I am not one of those people. I would love a great COD game on 3DS. RE:R is the main reason I got the 3DS, but at the same time I kind of felt like playing a tennis game and got addited to mario tennis as well haha (i just wish it was a longer game lol).

They could make the 3ds XL thicker. To accommodate the extra shoulder buttons. And use the space for a better battery. But nope.

The post that started the quote tree was talking about Call of Duty, Battlefield and Assassins Creed. None of these games have ever been big on handhelds. Has there ever even been a Battlefield handheld game? I don't think there has, which would kind of prove my point that wanting to appease people that play those games is utterly redundant. Handheld gaming has been fine without them for decades.

they could but that is a catch22. because people would complain it is too fat and people would probably be bashing it callingit a portable gamecube or soemthing silly.

which is my point, the idea that no one wants to play those games on the go is ludicrous and ignorant, especially when we have "console" games that have sold well on portables. Metal Gear Solid PO and PW did more than a mil each. BOth GTAs for PSP. GOD CoO, KH BBS and 365 days, Tekken DR, hell MOD Heroes did 2 mil on PSP and that was without any kind of hype. If its done right people will come. Even Ninty's own history shows that a good chunk of their best selling games on portables have been nothing more than spinoffs of the console games. Mario Lands, hell GBA was just a SNES port machine(nothing wrong with that)

COD did more than a mil on PSP, and that was one game BEFORE it got popular with the modern warfare theme. AC didnt do to badly on PSP either, it didnt do gangbusters, but wasnt horrible. Yes there was no Battlefield, but there was MOH heroes and that did more than 2 mil, not even counting the sequel. Its not about the handhelds needing them, never said that, but there is an audience for them

lol holy shit does these types of comments confuse the hell out of me or what. YOU as a person can not define what portable gaming should be for everyone. People have preferences in different areas so more options are a good thing. Stop defending when the alternative of having two nubs is a positive thing. It won't steal you your mario games or anything you know.I would have LOVED to play games like Crisis Core with two sticks if I could at the time. For me I enjoy all games from small titles to larger games

Also for those who keep saying the 3ds doesn't have that many games that support the 2nd nub, did any of you actually think NOT having it with the system itself and having to buy an add on makes developers hesitant to even put the support in? It's not 'their fault'.
