I don't know how it is for Layton, but the extra-quests for Heroes of Ruin are a spot-pass-function - that means you get the quest of the day if you are in reach of a WLAN. It never shows up in the E-Shop in any way.

Aqua Blue is out of production just in Japan, in the rest of the world, we still can have a AquaBlue 3DS.so you can buy a normal Aqua blue 3DS and a normal Circle pad pro. Ain't everything that bad

Kid Icarus used the CPP for left-handed-option. Does not add anything. RE:R and MH3G use it - optional.

As far as I know, KI only puts the movement from the left nub to the right with CPP, so that you can use the stylus with the left hand.
How much it is needed for MH4 is speculation at this point.

That may be a reason, Nintendo sold a big amount of additional hardware for the Wii. Maybe they want to do that for 3DS too. But I also think, they wanted to make the XL an ooption to the small 3DS, not a revision. So if they had added the second nub to the XL, they should have done also a revision for the smaller 3DS.

oh well, that's tech for you. noone complains when new ipods and iphones roll out every year. It should be expected by now. I bought a 3DS at launch and knew what I was getting so it is what it is.
